Cataract treatment has become more modernized than several years ago. It can be achieved usually without stitches or patches. A small opening is made on the front of the clear outer lens. The cloudy inner lens is broken up and removed from the eye. A new artificial lens is inserted in its place. Patients can usually resume normal activities as early as the next day after surgery, and many find that their eyesight is better than before the cataract formed.
Glaucoma treatment is done by alleviating pressure on the optic nerve through medication or laser eye surgery. This treatment will never cure glaucoma completely but will help control it.
