Social media is very popular and many businesses are finding that it is an effective way to market their products and to find new leads for the company. When you engage in social media marketing you will quickly ting several benefits to it, one of which is that it is easy to use and that it is free. Many businesses use social media to build stronger relationships with their customers while other see the benefit to social media as a forum to build up their reputation.

If you engage in weekly blog discussions along with writing articles, it is important to use your social media websites to help you post the information about these articles. You need to educate your customers and to let them know you have credible information that they need to review. If you are new to article marketing, here are some things that will help you create better articles and how to advertise them on social media sites.

First, start off the article by researching keywords. You need to use the keywords that your customers are using to find your website or the ones that are popular. Take these keywords and create an engaging title for the article then you will need to use them within the article, particularly within the first sentence and last paragraph. This is a great way to help the search engine crawlers find your article and to give it credibility. One keyword per article is the best option but you can choose to add others within in, just try to keep the main topic to a single keyword.

Second, create original content. There are many article marketing websites out there and a lot of them will focus on the same thing over and over. You need to create original articles and articles that give your customers something different. While you can use other articles for ideas, always write your own articles as it will help you to build up your reputation and will be able to make it much easier for your customers to trust the information you are posting.

Third, use the first paragraph of the article to market it. You want to use engaging sentences and post it on social media sites and within email newsletters in order to get your customers interested in what you have to say. This is a great way to generate traffic to the site where you are posting the article, which is hopefully on your own blog versus article marketing sites. This way you will get all the web traffic and you can benefit greatly from the advertising revenue that is posted on the site.

Fourth, write for people not the search engines! This is a big one to remember as there are a lot of companies that focus more on keywords than on actual content. You need to really focus on the customer's needs and writing articles that will benefit their life in one way or another. The content has to not only offer some type of value to the customers but it also need to strike a chord with your customers in order to get them to tell their friends about it on Twitter and Facebook. Twitter will be your best source for business use as people can quickly re-tweet the information. Always have a link on the article for your readers to post it on Facebook and Twitter that they have read the information.

Fifth, don't use unnatural language in the article or in the marketing of the article. If you do this, it will only make it confusing to the customers and people won't read it.
