How to expand who you market to


You have a pretty big customer base, but you are still having a hard time reaching your goals with just your regulars.You need to find a way to more people to notice your business and become "regulars" for you.

There are many ways to expand the people that you are marketing to.Here are a few ideas to inexpensively expand who you market to, which will expand your business's customer base.


- It all starts with making strong relationships with your current customers.Make your current customers overly satisfied, exceed their expectations, and they will be sharing your name with everyone they know.If they feel like you are personally interested in them, they will be loyal to you and bring others with them.
- Ask your customers for referrals.This can be done so easily and if you are offering rewards then you will have a good response.You could do discounts for each name they give you, or you can do it on a results basis.This would be giving the customers who gave the referral rewards for how much you profit from their referral.
- Offer people some free information that you have to have their contact information to give them.If the information that you are offering is something that people really want, then they will give you their email or their address so that they can get it.This gives you a great new set of people to market to.
- Hold a drawing with business cards.Put out a box that says what is being given away and have people put their business in for the drawing.This gives you their information and they gave it to you voluntarily.
- Have a sign up list for future offers.Put out a sign up sheet that asks if they want to be the first notified of upcoming discounts and special offers.This will give them the chance to leave their information and they are benefiting too.With these people give them the chance to give you referrals, which could be rewarded with even more special offers.
- If you have found the best way to advertise to your market, then keep doing just that.But also expand out and use different forms of advertisement.You will attract a very different set of people with different advertising.If you send out flyers every week with your specials, try emails.Get your current customers emails and then get others emails from them.There are some people who don't have time for TV or newspaper ads, find a way to get to those people too.
- Without getting rid of the products you already offer, find a way to offer one or two new products.These new products may be focused towards another marketing group.This will give you another place to start marketing, and they might bring more people with them.With each new customer look at it as an opportunity to get three more.But they won't show or tell anyone about your business if they didn't have an outstanding experience.
- Become more consumer friendly.This is having the right things and making them easy to get.Have your store or website easy to navigate, make sure that the purchasing process is simple and as quick as possible.Try not to make customers wait any longer than you have to.Make sure in your store that there are bathrooms at easy access and that the floors are clean in the store.Online make sure that you are not stressing them out with pop-ups and avoid having errors come up when they are trying to find your site.
