How to identify selling points of your product or service

When it comes to marketing and advertising your product or service you are going to want to draw attention to the product or services selling points. These points are things that make your product or service unique from other companies, basically these points are all the ways that your product or service will stand out from the rest of the other products or services that your competitors sell. When identifying your product or services selling points you are going to want to focus on all of the goods things that you can think of about your product and you are going to brag about those features in order to entice your customer and potential customers to buy your products.

Here are some tips on how to identify your product or services selling points.

Tip one:
The best source of information for identifying your product or services selling points is you and your staff. Chances are what you think makes your product or service great is same thing that your customers will think is great. What you need to do is to take a few minutes and write down everything that you think is good about the product. After doing that do a quick survey of your co-workers to see what ideas they have. After getting the ideas you can go to work on creating advertisements that focus on the selling points of your product.

Tip two:
Another thing that you need to do is to conduct some market research to find out information about your competitors and their product or service. By finding out everything you can about their product or service you can easily identify your products selling point. Some examples of this would be a lower selling price, a newer version of the product, a smaller version of the same product, or a product that comes in a variety of colors or designs.

Tip three:
Another thing you need to do to help identify your selling point for a product or service is to see what kind of an edge you have over your competitors. These would be personal qualities that only you, your employees and/or your business will offer your customers. This can be a longer warranty, better customer service, extensive experience with the product or service, a guarantee on the product or service, etc. But if you can offer something for the product or service those others can't you have another great selling point.

Tip four:
One thing that you have to do before you start looking at your product or service is to make sure that you have a market for your product by conducting market research. If you don't have a market for your product or service then it won't matter what selling points your product or service has it will never sell. Once you have determined that you have a market for your product or service you are going to need to figure out your target group, this will allow you to focus your selling points to a smaller group which should increase your chances of being successful.

Something to keep in mind when trying to identify your product or services selling points is that you should not have to struggle for a long period of time to figure out what the selling points of your product or service are. If you can not think of any good things about your product or service within a reasonable amount of time then you probably won't be successful and it will be apparent to your customers that you are reaching for anything to make your product seem attractive.

Keep in mind that the whole idea of identifying your product or service's selling points is to make your product or service more attractable to the customer than your competitors.
