If you are like most business owners, you spend considerable time and resources developing your marketing message. You've done your market research, gotten customer feedback, studied your competitors and then put your marketing plan together. However, did you know that you are still at risk, for not having your marketing message received by your target customers?Today's consumers are bombarded by thousands of marketing messages, so if you cannot make your marketing message, have an impact, you risk it getting lost in the constant noise of marketing, that your customers deal with everyday. The good news is that there are simple steps that you can take that will help you to design a marketing message with impact. Here is what you need to know about how to make sure your marketing message has an impact-

  • Make sure it has emotion attached to it-Your customers will respond far more positively, if you can attach an emotion to your marketing message. The first step is to determine exactly what you want them to feel. What emotion do you want to invoke by with your marketing? Are you looking to make them feel happy, surprised them or bring them to tears? You need to make sure that you choose the right emotion that is appropriate, for what you are marketing. Think of some of the best marketing you have seen. Chances are that it has an emotion attached to it. You want to create a marketing message that has your customers wanting to share it. When you can get your customers talking about your marketing, over and over again, you have created a marketing message with impact, that won't soon be forgotten.
  • Make it personal-Another great way to create a marketing message with impact is to add in personal recommendations. You can really add impact to your marketing message, if you can get your existing customer's to recommend your company, products and services. Potential customers will look for someone to relate to, when they are considering making a purchase. If you can have someone your potential customers can identify with recommend what your company does, you marketing message, will be much more likely to be remembered. Keep in mind that these recommendations do not have to be in a formal marketing message.By encouraging your friends and family to speak positively about your company, products and services, you can get some inexpensive marketing done that can leave quite an impact. Finally, to really add impact to your marketing message, a celebrity recommendation may carry the ultimate weight.
  • Make it new and fresh-If you are constantly bringing out the same old marketing messages, your customers are going to be less likely to pay attention to what you have to say. Over time they will simply lose interest in whatever you are trying to promote. It is important to remember that consumers see a large number of marketing messages, even on a daily basis. You must be able to come with something fresh and new, if your message is going to stand out among the competition. It can be helpful to review marketing, to get an idea of what is being used successfully and what is not. Then you need to make sure that whenever you are approaching your customers with some marketing material, that you include new and interesting information for them. Even if the information isn't exactly new, presenting it in a new way, will much more likely to get their attention, then just repeating the same marketing message over and over again. Remember the only limits to great marketing are the creativity you are willing to use.
