Many times business owners put a marketing plan in place and then forget about it. When they begin to realize that their marketing is not as effective as it needs to be they often panic, throw away their current marketing plan, and start over. This can be costly both in terms of money and time. If you are a business owner and find yourself in this position there is no need to panic or begin again with your marketing. There are things that you can do that will help you to re-energize your marketing strategy. Here is what you need to know about how to reinvent your business marketing-

- Focus on knowing what your customers really want-The most basic truth of buying is that your customers are satisfying a need or a want. Keep in mind that it doesn't really matter which because there is an emotion attached to it. You want to design marketing that focuses on the emotions that will bring your customers in to buy from you. Even if you feel that your customers will buy from you because of what you offer keep in mind that they do so because it makes them feel good. If you can design marketing that appeal to the emotions of your customer you will be far more successful then relying on logic.
- Focus on being the solution that your customers are looking for-All of the razzle and dazzle in your marketing is not what is going to attract your customers. Instead you need to make sure that your customers know why they should buy from you. Presenting your business as the solution for their need or want is the way to reinvent your marketing. You want to avoid focusing on operational issues or product features and instead consider your marketing from your customer's point of view. You want to be able to grab their attention and keep it long enough for your customers to know what your product or service can do for them. Make sure that you use short, catchy, and interest grabbing marketing material to do this. You may also want to add customer testimonials to let other potential customers know the benefits of buying from your business.
- Focus on thinking outside of the box-Many times' business owners think that they have to follow what everyone else is doing in terms of their marketing. They feel that the only want to stay up with the competition is to do exactly what they are doing. However, you should keep in mind that your target market receives literally hundreds if not thousands of marketing messages everyday and most of them they tune out. If you are thinking that you are running a race with your competition then you are mistaken. You need to refocus your marketing to be something that makes you stand out from the crowd and gets your customers to stop and take notice of what you have to offer. Do not be pressured into doing what everyone is else is doing instead rethink how you can make your marketing strategy special, unique, and truly memorable
- Refocus on reviewing, recycling and reusing-This three "R" slogan isn't just about being green it can also apply to your marketing. If you feel that you need to make changes to your marketing then you may want to take a close look at marketing that you have already done. Many times you can review materials that you have used in the past, update them, and then reuse them. This not only saves time and money but provides continuity to your marketing that can reinvent and reenergize it.
