It is important to use your marketing plan to persuade customers to buy your product or service. In fact, if you don't focus on creating and implementing a marketing plan that will use persuasion to generate sales, your business idea will be slow in becoming successful, if it even gets off the ground to begin with.

The fact of the matter is, a good marketing plan needs to have the element of persuasion as its main function. After all, no matter which product or service you are providing, the very core of your success depends on the revenue that you will earn from people who are persuaded to purchase your product or service. That is why it is so crucial to the success of your business for you to know how to use your marketing plan to persuade customers to buy your product.


So, when you are creating your marketing plan, it is important to consider who your target market will be. Do your research in order to decide which marketing strategies are going to be most effective. In other words, who is your audience? Are they a specific age group? Are they predominantly of a specific ethnicity or gender? Defining your target market will give you a general idea on which marketing tools you will need to bridge the gap between you and the customer and be able to clearly and efficiently present your product or service to them.

For example, if you are selling a new type of shoe that you think every teen would enjoy, don't do your television advertising during the time all teens should be in school. Also, consider who would be doing the television ad. You'd want any actors to be in their teen age years as well so that your target market could identify with the commercial.

Another way to use your marketing plan to persuade customers to buy your product is by making them feel safe and earning their trust. There are a number of ways you can do this.

1. Consider providing a satisfaction guarantee for your product or services. Use marketing strategies in your marketing plan that will communicate that the satisfaction of your customers is your number one priority. If your product or service comes with a guarantee, they will be more inclined to giving you their business.
2. Try to predict any negative aspects you may have regarding your product or service, and use this in your marketing plan. Think of any possible reasons any of your potential clients might have that would create fear, discomfort, or uncertainty when dealing with your product or service. Once you come up with reasons, provide a defense or a reassurance in your marketing plan that will settle any of these doubts in their minds.
3. Once you have done step 2 mentioned above, stress all of the benefits of your product or service. This way, you have reassured them of the quality of your product, and now you are turning any negative thoughts they may have had into positive ones by focusing on how they would benefit from your service or product. This will make them feel like they want, and perhaps even need your product or service because they will be focusing on how much it will all benefit them.(Be sure to disclose the benefits in a way that your services or product would compare to and be better to the current competition. Again, this will help influence your customer to feel like they want and need your service or product.)

The importance in strategically using your marketing plan to persuade customers to buy your product or service cannot be ignored. Furthermore, if you keep the main idea of earning the trust of your customer at hand, your marketing plan is sure to succeed in creating an abundance of business for you.
