Increase profits with purpose

Businesses looking to increase profits would do well to define their purpose and create the supporting attributes that go along with defining purpose. Businesses are in business to make money, but they stay in business by providing value to customers who buy their products and services. Thus, their purpose should be more than to turn a profit, but to provide value to customers. If you want to drive your company to success, the most important thing you can focus on is providing an incredible value to the customer. The rest will follow.

If you want happy customers you have to live up to the promises you make in mission statements, visions, slogans, etc. The customer experience is key to high profits. Of course, before you can live up to these promises, you have to decide what your promises are. Who are you? Where do you want to be in the future? How will you get there? How will you involve all departments of your company? This is where you define mission, vision, values, and goals, and create a culture of inspiration and excitement about your company.

Companies with purpose, and who are committed to providing value to you, their customer, will always see higher profits. This is because people want to be part of something larger. The majority of people want to align themselves with companies with purpose, values, etc. Thus, defining your purpose, and creating a culture that helps employees feel a part of your vision and purpose is key to your success. It gets everyone participating, on board, and contributing to the success of the company, not just watching the clock waiting to punch out for the day.

Companies with purpose see higher profits because the business becomes more meaningful to them, to their employees, and to their customers. This comes as a result of having clearly defined goals, mission, vision, values, guiding principles, and most importantly, communicating these ideas consistently both within and outside the organization. Having employees that actually care about the fate of the company, beyond their paycheck is going to make a huge difference in how the customers are treated, and the way the general public looks at your company.

Vision, values, missions, goals, and culture are not just there to make things cozy, and have something to put up in the lobby, but rather these attributes help businesses increase profits significantly, and connect with their customers on a more personal level, creating loyal customers for life. This is because when they have a defined purpose all of their other actions, goals, and movements, both in relation to customers, and their employees, are done with their purpose in mind. Thus, no actions are wasted, all customers are treated with respect, and every action taken helps advance the company closer to the goals, which they hold dear.

Any company can do it, define your purpose and see increased profits as a result.
