Many business owners have begun to focus so much effort on their online marketing that they often neglect the marketing methods that have not only been around for years but have been successful offline. Offline marketing is still a vital and valuable way to let your customers know who you are and what you can offer them. Neglecting offline marketing and simply focusing on online marketing methods is a not an effective way to get your marketing message out. Savvy business owners will make sure that they are integrating plenty of offline marketing strategies into their marketing plan. Keep in mind that there are many different ways to use offline marketing that go far beyond using billboards or direct mail. Here are some offline ways to marketing your business-

- Network, network and then network some more-Talking about your business whether in a formal setting like a Business Alliance meeting or to the person next to you in line at the bank is a highly effective way to get your marketing message out. You need to keep your business marketing in the forefront of your mind at all times. You never know when the next conversation that you have about your business will be the one that brings in that potential client or contact. However, you should keep in mind that most people don't want the hard sell. Be creative, low key, and keep the sales tactics down while marketing your business this way. No one wants to feel that they are only being used for their potential to buy from you. Make sure that your networking efforts are sincere, valid, and are the prequel to setting up a relationship with the person you are talking to.
- Advertise in free and local papers-Many business owners feel that advertising in newspapers is far too expensive and to some degree they are right. However, most likely your community has free papers that are highly popular. Many people regularly take these handout papers and scan them for news, information, and even ideas on where to shop. This can be a great way to let customers in your area know what you can do for them. If you want to be a local business then don't overlook the need to advertise locally.
- Participate in community events-Today, there are more opportunities then ever for businesses to get involved. From food fairs to community service projects you can use these events to get your business a presence in the community. However, it is important that you keep in mind whether or not your intended target market will be at the event. In addition to costing you money and time, it will do you very little good if you show up at events where your customers aren't. You need to make sure that the people you want to attract to your business will be at the community event. If you choose the right community events to get your business involved with you will find that you can do a great deal of offline marketing for a very low cost.
- Consider working with another business-No matter how large the city or town that you do business in chances are the business community is fairly small. In most places business owners know of each other and sometimes know each personally. It can be an effective way to market offline by joining forces with another business. It is important that business owners make key contacts within their business community.Whether you are looking for referrals from the other business or want to participate in joint marketing ventures you can be successful working together offline.
