Technology that MUST be used for effective marketing

For a company to survive in an increasingly competitive marketplace today, the name of the game is technology. We're becoming an ever more technology dependent world, and knowing which technologies our customers and potential customers rely on to get their news, entertainment, financial information, and so on, is vital if we want to continue not just survive but thrive. Let's look in more detail at how technology can help us reach our customers and potential customers in a maximally effective way.

- One of the first and most obvious technologies that must be used for effective marketing is, to put it simply, the Internet. Now, the Internet in truth avoids all manners and methods of "putting it simply." It's too huge, complicated, bewildering, and sophisticated for that. But it's also a relatively new thing. We rely on it today as if had been with us for thousands of years, but in reality the Internet is only in its infancy as far as potential goes. If we want our company to thrive, if we want to market effectively, we must know the ins and outs of the Internet, starting with how to create an attractive, helpful web page.

- Grasping the technology that goes into creating an attractive, helpful web page isn't something that happens overnight, so that thankfully there are people devoted to just such a thing, and places on the Internet, if our company's in its infancy and not yet ready to hire someone to create a web page for us, that can take us step by step through the process. We've all used the Internet enough to tell at a glance a good web page from a bad one, or a professional one from an amateur one. We know how important the web page is when it comes to marketing, because if we follow an interesting link to an uninteresting, unhelpful web page, we soon turn our mind to other matters.

- Speaking of which, marketing our product on sites besides our own, marketing our product via email, and so forth, are technologies that must be used for effective marketing. We're talking about ABC's here, but it doesn't take much Internet surfing to see that there are few companies who've gotten these most basic matters down right. Let's say that we're marketing a program that helps college students organize their notes more easily and effectively. How are we going to use the technologies we've been discussing above to our advantage here?

- Email marketing leaves a lot to be desired as far as sophistication goes, but it is also very helpful when it comes to targeting a specific market instantaneously and by the thousands. The technology that allows to flood campus emails with advertisements for our note-organizing programs is obviously of vital importance for our marketing strategy. It is likely that many students will take enough interest to click on our link, and visit our web page. Our web page must be designed so as to capture their interest further, and make it easy for them to find out more.

- But there are lots of other ways to market our note-organizing program on the Internet besides email. We an advertise on those sites that college students are likely to visit on a daily basis, be they for entertainment, news, or whatever. We must learn to advertise on gaming sites, for example, as (a) gaming is more popular with college students than ever, and (b) gaming takes so much time that an organizing tool like ours is certain to appeal to the average college gamer! Internet technology opens doors upon doors upon doors for effective marketing.

- That said, we've got to put together a marketing team that's Internet savvy, and become savvy on our own. It may seem like a formidable thing, learning Internet technology for effective marketing, but in reality we can pick up the basics more quickly than we think we can and grow from there.
