When you have a properly designed website, your customers will appreciate how easy it is to use and for them to navigate. It is important that you look at ways in which you can increase the marketing of your site so you can keep people coming to your site. When you stop marketing and you are not focused on promoting your site all the time, it can lead to stagnant website traffic. You may lose a large amount of customers and the search engines may end up blocking you when you do try to market your site. Here are some of the ways in which you can help to focus on your website to help generate more website traffic and to give you a larger sales percentage from your customers.

Content
What are the reasons why your customers come to your website? Do they come for a product or are they looking to read articles and other things? The content on your website will have a big impact on your website ranking. The content needs to be original and it needs to be high quality. The problem a lot of companies make is that they create content that is based on the industry and not on the customers. You have to generate content that your know your customers will want to read and will appreciate. How can you do this? Search for the keywords they are using to find your site. You also need to look for additional things as well like the topics that they tend to read on your site or the products they purchase frequently. When you can find the content that they favor, it will be able to help you in generating better website content that gets traffic to your site.

As you focus on writing better content you also need to focus on other things as well like looking at the existing copy on your site. Do you have misspellings? What about broken links? You need to really look over your website and to search for ways in which you can improve your site and to make it look nicer and to ensure that it is appealing to your customers.

Landing Page
Look at the pay per click ads that you have out there and determine if they are meeting your customer's needs or not. You have to really work on the landing page and to find ways in which you can generate a higher click through percentage based on the content you have. People will click on an ad and will spend less than 5 seconds evaluating the site before moving on to the next pay per click ad. If you do not have what they are looking for right away, you will lose the sale. The landing page needs to have a "call to action". What this means is that you want to convince the customers to do something once they land on your page. Your job is to show them why they need to buy your product or service and to convince them of it's importance.

Shopping Cart
What happens when you want to buy a product but you find that it is too hard to figure out the shopping cart? You usually end up taking your business elsewhere right? You need to be able to look at the shopping cart and to find ways to make it easier for your customers to use and to really work on helping your customers in paying for the products as well. Offer them more than just credit cards, use Bill Me Later and PayPal to help your customers find a way in which they can afford your products.
