Assertive thinkers - Small business owner leaders are competitive, decisive, and forces to be reckoned with.An assertive thinker sees obstacles as challenges to be tackled head on.The attitude is always positive.

Enthusiasm is a must - When you think of an effective leader, you probably think of someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, and who has an ability to articulate in a way that motivates others.Optimism and enthusiasm go hand in hand.If you want to be an effective leader but you tend to see the glass half full, work on first changing the way that you deal with others and soon you will find that those changes will affect the way that you treat yourself (meaning your thought process).

Be self-assured - The world of small business ownership can be lonely.There may not be anyone there to share victories with or to lean on when you need support.A good leader is confident enough with themselves and comfortable enough in their situation to be able to function well even if there is little or no outside approval.Being self-assured also means that you do not get to down on yourself if you do make a mistake.Failures and mistakes are simply seen as a part in the process.
