Least expensive, most effective marketing campaigns for small business

Every small business owner knows that a good marketing campaign is a must to run a successful business. But the major problem that small businesses have when designing a marketing campaign is how expensive marketing campaigns can be. As a small business owner you are probably on a tighter budget, especially if you are just starting out in your small business. What many small business owners don't realize is that you can create a marketing campaign for a small business that is both inexpensive and very effective; you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a marketing firm or on a marketing campaign to get the best results.

Here are some of the least expensive, and most effective marketing campaigns for small businesses.

Tip one:
Postcard marketing is a very inexpensive but effective marketing campaign if it is done correctly. The reason that postcard marketing is so effective is that more people will read a postcard than a letter because with the postcard all you have to do is flip it over and read it. Letters usually end up in the trash can unopened, which means they never even got read. And postcards are also easy to hang on the fridge for future reference.

Tip two:
Another inexpensive and effective marketing campaign is email marketing. This allows the user to sign up for updates and specials if they wish. The best way to go about an email marketing campaign is to create a website that will draw in more customers and then entice them to sign up for news and updates from your company. A good email marketing campaign can increase your sales, enhance your customer relationships, and increase your brand recognition.

Tip three:
Another simple and inexpensive marketing campaign that is effective is surveys. This marketing campaign can increase awareness of your company and its products, as well as give you ideas on how and where to improve your company so that your business can be successful. With survey's you have a variety of options to accomplish the marketing campaign. Some of the ways you can complete surveys are simple fax back, mailing, or face to face surveys in malls and other locations.

Tip four:
While email marketing is one inexpensive and effective marketing technique there are other marketing techniques that you can use on the internet. But in order to have a successful marketing campaign you are going to have to at least have a website, with email marketing you can still market without a website, it just isn't as effective. Some of the more common methods of internet marketing are advertisements that you can create and arrange to have other websites and consumers place on their websites, you can also use pay per click advertising, baner ads, and many others. But the key to internet marketing is to create eye catching ads that will entice the customers to return to your page time and time again.

Tip five:
Another marketing method that you can use would be podcasting or video podcasting. Both of these marketing methods can be done from home and can be very effective. Video podcasting is effective because if you can create a video that is short and to the point, as well as interesting people will continue to talk about the video and others will want to watch it. Podcasting is effective because more and more users are listening to podcasts and not many fast forward through the advertisements.

Just keep in mind that which ever techniques that you choose in order to create a successful marketing campaign you are going to have to combine more than one technique.
