Military lawyer

Military law is complicated law, is harsh law, is brutal law. That's how many people see it, at least. The military, after all, deals with war, deals with violence, deals with death - the military can't afford to be weak when it comes to law. The military has a very rigid, specific system set in place. There isn't a lot of "wiggle room" in military law. Those who have been accused by the military of doing something wrong, therefore, really find themselves in a difficult situation.
There are other, milder ways of looking at military law, however. The military (in some ways) is a business just like any other - abureaucracy just like any other. The military has its bosses, it's secretaries, typists, mailmen, errand boys, computer technicians, janitors, data entry people, etc. etc. etc. Not everybody in the military is a soldier. Not everybody's a general, obviously, not everybody's directly tied to combat. But still, even as a corporation the military behaves uniquely - and requires special lawyers to try its cases. A military lawyer (also called a military attorney) is simply a lawyer who's trained in military law.

What's the use of a military lawyer or attorney? A military lawyer or attorney can step in during those very complicated military cases and help to set things in order. Or, a military lawyer or attorney can handle those run-of-the-mill, everyday cases that the average man and women out there often find themselves in. Again, a military lawyer or attorney is very well trained in military law. A military lawyer or attorney, then, can help a person not so trained to understand military law, to navigate the very complicated terrain of military law, so to speak. If you are in the military, and you find yourself in trouble with your higher ups, you'll need a military lawyer in some cases to defend you. This can apply to minor things as well as major things. A military lawyer is there to take on the issues whatever they are, major or minor.
To take the example of a major case, let's say you're a young soldier in Iraq and you decide one day that you've had enough. The conditions are just too dangerous, you want to go home. You want out of there. And so you skip town, so to speak - you sneak out of the country in order to get back to the U.S. And let's say that you're apprehended, or caught, as you attempt to return to the U.S. You'd be in major trouble. You'd be in trouble for desertion. You'd definitely want to find a good military lawyer in this scenario. You'd want to find a good military lawyer as quickly as you could. A good military lawyer would try to make the penalties that the military would be sure to impose on you less severe. A good military lawyer would try to get your case before the public, to see if he or she could get public sympathy for you.
To take the example of a more minor case, let's say that you feel that the military has cheated you out of your retirement benefits. The military, as we said before, is in certain respects like any other company out there, but then again in important respect it's not. You wouldn't want your average employee lawyer to represent you in this case. You'd want to find a good, honest, successful military lawyer or attorney to represent you. A good, honest, successful military lawyer could go in and find out just what happened - a good, honest, successful military lawyer would get you your rights, if he or she could. A military lawyer or attorney is indispensable when it comes to military law.
