If you own a small business eventually, you are going to need some kind of advice. The problem is that most small business owners have no idea where they can go to receive small business advice so they just try to figure things out on their own. This is hard for small business owners because most small business owners are already trying to do everything by themselves and by the time, they are ready to seek help they are in way over their heads. Therefore, rather than trying to struggle through your problems you should think about approaching somebody for some small business advice.

Here are some resources that you can use for small business advice.

Number one: Angel investor
You can go talk to an angel investor to get some small business advice; however, this will only work if you have an angel investor. Angel investors are normal people who invest in your small business so that you can get it up and running. The reason that they invest in your business is so that they can get a higher return on their investments. Not only do angel investors give you money to get your small business started they can also provide you with advice because most of the time angel investors are business owners themselves so they can offer you expert advice on your industry.

Number two: Small business association
A small business association can also provide you with great advice for running a small business. There are plenty of small business associations for a small business owner to join. Most states have their own chapter; there is a national small business association that you can join, and many more that are run by non-profit organizations. These associations are designed to provide support to small business owners through numerous resources and experts. While there is, a membership fee involved in joining a small business association many small business owners find paying the fee to be well worth it because of how much small business associations can help the small business owner.

Number three: Internet
The internet is a great place for you to go to get advice on small businesses. However, the thing about the internet is that in order to use it to look for small business advice you are going to need to know what you are looking for so that you can do a search on the information you are seeking.

Number four: Small business websites and owners
Small business websites are also a great place to go for small business advice. Many of these websites offer some kind of a message board or discussion group that allows you to post questions that you might have. When you post a question, the group members have the opportunity to answer the question and the best part is you can get more than one opinion on what is the best answer. Once the question has been answered you can read the various answers and do what you think is best.

You can also approach other small business owners to get small business advice. However, when approaching small business owners you are going to want to make sure that you are careful when asking them for advice because you might give your competition some kind of advantage. The reason for this is that if you are asking for help for solving a problem they might be able to figure out what it is you are trying to do and beat you to it. Nevertheless, you can also approach other business owners who are in a different industry to see what they have to say about certain generic problems and solutions.
