One of the best ways to help attract more business to your small business is to have sales and promotions. Basically what this means is that you are offering your customers some type of an incentive to come to your place of business rather than going to your competitors place of business. One of the most popular times of the year to have sales and promotions is around the holidays and right after the holidays. The reason for this is that during the holidays people are expecting to spend their money and are always looking for the best deals possible, but right after the holidays most businesses are trying to get rid of their inventory so that they can do their end of year stuff with little to no inventory, but they also want to make sure that they have room for any new inventory that is coming in after the first of the year.

Here are some tips for having promotions and sales with your small business.


Tip one:
The first thing that you need to think about is how many people are around the area of your business. The reason why you need to think about this is that the smaller the amount of people the more money you are going to end up spending promoting your businesses sale. The reason for this is that the fewer people that pass by the business the harder you will have to work to send the message out to more people. But many times what happens is that you spend the extra money but still don't attract the customers so you end up losing money. So you need to think about how much you are willing to spend to promote your business sale.

Tip two:
Something else that you need to think about is when you are going to have the promotion. Some areas you can have the promotion at any time, but in other areas people have more money and are willing to spend that money during certain times of the month or the year. So you need to think about planning your sale or promotion during the times when your customers are going to have the money to spend.

Tip three:
The next thing you need to think about is what kind of things are you going to do to attract people to your place of business; basically you need to figure out what kinds of promotions you are going to use to attract your customers. One of the best things that you can do is to offer free samples of the product you are putting on sale, but you need to think about the cost of handing out samples, you can do it for low cost or you can do it at a high cost. Another method you can use is incentives, such as giving them something for buying the product or paying a lower price for the product.

Tip four:
Something lese that you need to think about is if you are going to mail out brochures or newsletters to your potential customers about this promotion. If you are going to choose this route then you need to think about a few things. One thing that you need to think about is how easy to read the brochure or newsletter is, you basically want something that the customers will read and not throw away. Another thing is you want to enclose a coupon or something similar that is a special incentive for the people you have mailed the newsletter or brochure out to, you want to give them something that isn't available to the general public.
