Let's look at five ways in which new printers will improve, upgrade, and sophisticate your business and really help to bring in the big bucks and the big spenders. It's time to get rid of those clunky old monsters with their smeary ink and other horrors. It'd be nice to look at a business letter, say, and actually be able to read it without hiring a professional interpreter of ancient runes. It'd be nice to not have to see those revolting lines running through everything. It'd be pleasant, for once, to look at a sentence and not think of a mouthful of broken teeth. Wouldn't it be great to print a small job in less time than it takes to complete a jigsaw puzzle of the complete texts of William Shakespeare? Yes, it would! On to the five improving ways, then.

That is, they'll "sex up," as the current saying goes, your letters, documents, reports, charts, advertisements, newsletters, announcements, and so forth. The look of the thing is often more important than even the thing's actual content. First impressions, and so forth. New printers will increase your business through the beautification of those important printed items listed above. New printers will increase your business by getting rid of smears, lines, blobs, fuzz, bloats, and crookeds, devilish things all. You'd be amazed at the difference between a letter printed by an old printer versus a letter printed by a new printer. It's not merely a matter of certain mishaps and embarrassments being avoided. No, a new printer should be able to do much more than be reactive, it's got to be proactive. The point isn't to make your important printed items less ugly; the point is to make them more attractive to the eye, more impressive to the reader.

Advantages of larger computer monitors
Surprisingly, or perhaps predictably, many people don't take advantage of technology as it improves on an almost day to day basis. Now, part of the reason for this is written right into that last sentence. Technology does advance on an almost day to day basis, and that's only considering technology in its individual aspects, e.g. computers, music and movie players, kitchen appliances, etc. Technology taken as a whole advances on a minute to minute basis! It seems as though you save up your hard-earned dollars for the "latest" gadget needed to simplify your life, make a job easier, bring entertainment closer to home, etc., go out and triumphantly buy it at your local megastore, bring it home, set it up, marvel at its ingenious construction and advantages, prepare for bed, fall asleep, wake up in the morning, make a cup of coffee, grab the paper, and discover on page one that your fantastic new gadget was rendered obsolete overnight. They've already improved on it, those wizards, and expect you to fork over another hundred bucks or so for the fruits of their labors.
This process, repeated often enough, can make a person cynical about "improving" the technology she already owns. What's the point? she asks herself. I'll go out and get it, take months learning its subtle ways, only to turn on the television and see a commercial for yet another improvement on the improvement I already made. And so she sits back and allows her computer, or voice recorder, or whatever, to gather dust and become really a museum piece.

How well or unwell your business functions depends largely on your skill or un-skill with the process known as business analysis. Before you can improve function through business analysis, you need to understand what it is. Business analysis is the process by which a new product becomes ready for its maiden voyage. Different products, as every good businessperson knows, require different marketing techniques. Different products require sometimes wildly differing marketing plans. Different products mean, among other things, differences in sales (due to factors like expense, function, etc.), differences in advertising costs, differences in advertising venues, differences in profits, and so on.
This may seem like a very elementary point to make. It seems obvious that you wouldn't try to sell a toaster in exactly the same way you'd try to sell a pair of running shoes. The overall goal is the same, of course-to sell lots of toasters and running shoes-but your actual methods for achieving that goal differ importantly from one product to another. In other words, the overall goal in selling a product is to sell the product, but just how you go about doing it requires great subtly, skill, time, and preparation.
Now, it would seem almost as if business analysis was a separate thing from the day to day activities of the company. Business analysis is a special thing, only the best of the best need apply, and it sort of hovers over the more mundane aspects of business and business life. This is true, in some ways; the fellow coming up with a marketing plan for your new product is going to have a more extensive, specialized education than the fellow pasting up flyers for it. But business analysis should be able to improve the functioning of your company overall. That is, business analysis should be so integrated into the day to day affairs of your company that its special energy influences everything else.
