What is AOL?It means America Online.AOL is a dial-up service provider that allows users to access the Internet and AOL services. Its features offer you access from news to entertainment. It is possible to have up to seven e-mail address with each membership.You will also have access to chat rooms and message boards.

It will be possible to incorporate more graphics into instant messenger interfaces.

One of the new features of AOL 8.0 is that it has a smaller translucent toolbar , called the AOL Companion that will inform people of incoming e-mails when their AOL window is not opened.Itcan be expanded to include a drop-down menu to change screen names or to sign out of AOL. It also features a folding menu that opens a scrolling list which includes links to a Web search engine, news, weather, horoscopes, maps and even a dictionary.

When signing in to AOL 8.0, users will be asked to choose from a selection of six welcome screens.These screens will vary slightly in color and design schemes.
There will be a weather box on the upper-left corner.You will be able to find top news stories at the top center, and there will be a section for online deals and opinion polls under the news section.There is a horizontal bar with broadband features on the bottom, and if you are interested in news, sports and music videos there is a list of "Quick Clicks" links for you to access.
AOL executives claim that version 8.0 will become the foundation on which to build exclusive programming for its members.

An interesting point is that AOL partner Real Network's RealOne Player is installed by default, in version 8.0.Email support has been upgraded and text based email signatures and email stationary are now available.Address books can be better categorized and the ability to print out listings has been greatly improved.

AOL, 8.0 has also been launched in the UK.They are excited because of the wealth of new features and enhancements that will now meet the expectations of online users.

There are also Pop-up Controls to help give the member the option of an uninterrupted online experience and there are Block Sender buttons to allow members to prevent unwanted emails and instant messages.
