How can I check my Yahoo mail?

If you have a Yahoo email account, you're not alone - Yahoo is the biggest email service provider in the world, serving millions of users worldwide. Part of its popularity, aside from name recognition, includes the ability to customize messages, scan files for viruses before opening them, and the ability a Yahoo account gives you to access other features, such as chat rooms and message boards.

Once you have your own Yahoo mail account, checking your Yahoo mail is simple to do. The following will show you step by step how to check your Yahoo mail:
1. First, go to Yahoo's main page. From there, you will see a "Sign in" icon. Once you click on this, you will directed to the sign-in page.

2. To access your inbox, enter your user name and your password. Make sure your address is spelled correctly. With Yahoo, you need only enter your user name; it is not necessary to enter "@yahoo.com" Also, make sure your password is spelled correctly. It's easy to mistype your password. Keep in mind as well that passwords are case sensitive, meaning that it makes a difference if you type a lower case letter instead of an uppercase one-if your password has the letter "D" in it, a "d" won't work. If you forgot your password, you can click on the link that tells you what to do if you forgot your username/password, and then reset it.
3. Once you have entered this information, click the "sign in" link.
4. From there, you will be taken to your account's main page. To access your inbox, click on the link that says "Inbox" You are now in your inbox. Unread messages will appear bolded in black.
5. You can also access your junk email, or "bulk" mail. Bulk mail is typically automatically directed to the account, but it's not a bad idea to check this folder occasionally, as legitimate emails sometimes erroneously get sent to the bulk folder.

You also have the option of saving your username and password on your Yahoo account until you sign out. This lasts for two weeks and makes it so you don't have to keep signing in and out every time you want to check your mail. If you are using a public computer, however, this isn't necessarily a good idea, as it will allow other people access to your emails as well as other information, including your name, date of birth, and address. In this day and age when identity theft is rampant, you can never be too careful, so avoid clicking the "keep me signed in" option unless you are doing so on your home computer.

If you don't have a Yahoo email account but would like one, they are easy to sign up for; you simply go to the Yahoo home page and click on the Sign Up option, fill out some information, and then you can begin sending and receiving emails. Yahoo has a number of features, including a large mail inbox, file scanning to keep you from opening infected files, and the ability to customize your messages with various fonts, colors, and emoticons.

Another reason Yahoo mail is so popular is because it is easy to navigate through. You can check your Yahoo mail in just a few little steps.
