How to clean a cell phone

cellphones37025442.jpg Keeping your cell phone clean is just as important as keeping your computer clean.Think about how many hands your phone passes through each day, and how many hands you shake or touch. Then think about how many germs are on those hands and its no wonder that people don't carry around Clorox wipes just to clean their phones. Here's how to clean a cell phone safely without causing any damage to it.

Before you start cleaning your cell phone you will want to gather the materials you need so that you have everything in one place. Here are a few things you can use to clean your phone that you probably already have in your house.

  • Clean cloth preferably lint free so you don't leave anything behind on the phone when you're done.

  • Alcohol

  • Cotton swabs

Now let's get to the cleaning part. Here are some simple steps and suggestions to follow in order to keep your cell phone clean and in great working condition.

  • Remove the external parts.Any part of the outside of your cell phone that will come off easily you should take off. This will make it much easier to clean all the parts.

  • Use a cleaning agent.I'm not talking about anything too abrasive here; water or alcohol will work just fine.Actually those are probably the only two things you should ever use when trying to clean your cell phone.Place some water or rubbing alcohol on a cloth or a clean piece of cotton and begin to clean.

  • Small parts.Using your cotton swabs you can clean the buttons and any smaller parts of the cell phone.By using cotton swabs you will be able to remove most of the small particles, dust, and oils that are on the buttons. You will definitely notice a difference when you're finished with this part of the cleaning.

  • The cell phone screen.Your display screen will also need to be cleaned. The screen is a little bit different from the other parts of your phone however.Instead of using water or alcohol to clean the screen it's better to use a glass cleaner to get any oils or fingerprints off.

  • Connectors and speakers.Yes you can clean your speakers and the connectors too using rubbing alcohol just like the other parts of the phone.Cleaning the connectors actually will help keep your phone in better working condition as it keeps those areas where headphones or chargers are plugged in free from dust and other small particles. The best thing to use when cleaning the connector areas is a soft bristled brush or a toothbrush will work nicely; nothing too hard.

  • About the battery. The battery is probably the one part where you can feel ok about not cleaning.Never use any type of liquid behind the battery. It won't actually damage the phone; it leaves a water stain mark on the inside back of the phone. It may not seem like a big deal, but if you ever have to return the phone to the company, they will void the warranty and won't even bother looking at any of the other parts.

Knowing how to clean a cell phone can help you keep your phone free from dust, oils that can damage your phone and germs that are everywhere.Your cell phone is probably one of the most used electrical devices today so keeping it clean will help ensure that you don't have to keep getting a new one.
