How to compare various computer monitors?

How to compare various computer monitors? The monitor is the visual source you will use to see what information you have on your computer, and on the Internet. Therefore you will want to choose a monitor that will create the smallest amount of strain as you spend time working, playing or searching the web.

However how can you compare the various computer monitors that are out there? There are different sizes, shapes, types, and styles. You will find often times that computers that are in packages, will come with a 17 or 15 inch monitor. However, it is not always necessary to purchase the monitor with the computer. The reason is, that you might want more.

There are two different types of monitors that you will find pretty standard. Those different types are CRT and LCD. The main different with these types of monitors is size, pixels, and quality.

The older version or CRT monitor works by taking a beam that passes across the screen of the monitor then it lights up the dots on the inside of the glass tube. These monitors are larger, they have decent pictures, and however they are not as clear as the LCD monitors.

The LCD monitors are flat panel monitors that have a liquid crystal display. The picture is clearer. The size is much thinner and easier to place or move. This is the newer technology that offers a great deal more to the graphics that are available in the systems and programs we run today.

Laptops have used LCD monitors in the past. Though, now it has picked up in the market of computer technology largely over the last ten years. In 2003 the purchase rates for the LCD really started to take over the standard CRT monitor markets.

When you consider how much effort a person will put into the insides of their computer, you will be surprised with how often they will simply brush by the monitors and choose the cheapest one.

This is not necessarily the greatest idea. There will be different qualities, different sizes, and different warranties. Take it from me, monitors do go out. The thing is that no matter what type of monitor you choose, there is always a risk. Therefore you will want to check the warranty for replacement, repair and returns if need be.

The next thing to consider is the size. The larger size monitor makes for less scrolling, easier seeing and comfort to the eyes. If you choose a smaller monitor that is of lower quality, you will find that no matter how good your computer is inside, you will not get the full enjoyment from it.

The resolution of a monitor will make the difference in the quality and picture quality you will have. You will find that the VGA standard is what comes with most monitors. However, you will want to be able to adjust the video resolution to fit what works best for you. There is 640x480, which is standard. However, for plenty of space, it is good to use 1024x768. You can test out the different monitors to find out which displays work for what you need.

This information should make it easier for you to compare various computer monitors. There are many times you can see the monitor in use, by checking them out at the store. That will show you want is available, at what price and with what quality.
