Satellite Dish Antenna

So you look out the window and you see . . . well probably the side of someone else's house or something like that. But if you were up high and you looked out the window (unless you are on a mountain, then you can just look over the edge) you would see millions of tiny little houses and streets.

You would see cars driving around busily like little ants on the streets. You would see fluffy little trees poking up between houses and such giving you the feeling that the valley is nestled amongst and between all the trees.

You would see mountains towering above the valley like fierce and sturdy walls standing to protect the life below them. They stand against the wind and the rain and shield the valley from the storms of life. Though the valley is small and the people in it are even smaller, the mountains will stay there and perform their duties as though they were protecting something much larger.

That is a lot to see in one small glance. There is one thing that you do not see though and that one thing is probably something that you do not think about. That is why it is going to be brought to your attention. It is such a small thing that you would probably never think about it, even if you though for a very long time. You could sit all day and think and still, you would not think of this one thing.

Before it is brought to your attention though, think again of all those houses you see. Tiny little specks that really do not seem like anything. There are so small that you can barely make out the roofs of them from way up high. You can see the surrounding trees better than you can see the houses.

Think about how even though you cannot see each individual house, only the specks, each of those homes has something going on inside of them. People are inside eating a meal or children are working on homework or watching TV . . .

Stop right there. That is what you do not see and what you probably do not think about . . . the TVs in all the homes! The view is so pretty that you probably think that the TVs in the homes would be a very stupid thing to think about.

You might be wondering why on earth would you care about the TV. TVs are just TVs. Great, what is so special about the fact that a lot of people have TVs? It is not like they all are secretly aliens inhabiting the world so that they can take over it.

Well, the special thing is that a lot of those TVs are probably satellite TVs. Satellite is in. Not only do you have TV channels to watch, but you have thousands of TV channels to watch. This is a huge deal.

How does this work? It is all through the satellite system.

Somewhere way up in the sky there is a satellite floating around. Somewhere way down on the ground there a lot of houses that have antennas connected to them. These satellite antennas are in the shape of a dish.

What happens is the satellite sends out signals and the satellite dish antenna reads those signals and transmits them through a satellite cable to a satellite receiver. This receiver is connected to your TV. Once the signals are received, you have a ton of TV channels to choose from.

It really is pretty super awesome.
