When to buy your office notebooks not desk tops

When it comes to buying office equipment for your business you have numerous choices that you have to make. You must decide what kind of computer to buy, what type of software you need, and other tasks. But one of the most important things you are going to have to decide is when to buy your office notebooks not desk tops for computers. Like desk top computers notebook computers come in a variety of models with a variety of features being offered. But when deciding if you want to purchase a notebook for your business there are few things to keep in mind.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when deciding if you should purchase a notebook computer for your business.

Tip one:
First thing you have to do is to determine what kind of budget you have to work with for purchasing computers. If your company is just starting out chances are that you don't have a lot of money to invest in computers, and purchasing a lap top is usually about twice as expensive as purchasing a desk top computer. But if you do have the funds to purchase a laptop you are making a good investment and it can lead to increased productivity.

Tip two:
Another thing that you need to think about when deciding if you should buy a laptop or a desk top is where you are going to be working from. If you can do all of your work from one location you are better off saving hundreds of dollars and buying a desk top computer. But if you do a lot of traveling around town or anywhere else for work and you need to be able to work from numerous locations you are better off with a laptop because of how portable they are.

Tip three:
Besides just handling email, spreadsheets and word processing notebook computers can perform a wide variety of tasks that might be important for your business. With a laptop computer you can present your power point presentations anywhere and at anytime. You can also use your laptop to play DVDs or CDs while you are traveling, which if you have a company presentation you want to view you can view it on the go. And notebook computers are also geared for playing games while you are on the go, which can help pass time when you are stuck in airports or on the train.

Tip four:
While notebook computers are great for on the go you also have to take into consideration what kind of work you are going to be doing with the computer. If you are going to be using a computer for any type of graphic related work you are not going to want to buy a notebook because their screens are so small you won't be able to see the graphics like you can on a bigger screen.

Tip five:
Another thing to keep in mind in regards to your budget is that notebook computers are more expensive to upgrade and are not nearly as easy to fix. You tend to have more wear and tear issues with a notebook than you do with a desk top because of the hinges repeatedly being opened and closed, broken keyboards, cracked screens, etc. All because of how small and compact the notebook is and how easy it is to take it with you.

Tip six:
Some other things to think about when purchasing laptop computers for your business is tat you will be looking at a smaller screen, working on a smaller keyboard, and probably won't be sitting in the proper position which can lead to further problems. You also have to think about battery life and make sure that you charge the battery and you will also need to have a separate network hub and a backup solution because laptops aren't optimized for those functions.
