Should You Plan A Health Fair?
There are many different details that you need to consider when you are focused on planning a health fair. It's a good idea to do some research on how to plan one and to seek out the other companies that have been able to create an effective health fair and implement employee health and wellness programs in the past. This can help you with the small details and will give you a chance to really understand how to plan one for your own company. You need to have some people that are focused on helping you to plan the health fair and really do understand how to pull it off successfully. You have to understand what type of elements need to be part of the health fair and then you want to focus on putting the plan into action. Look at the health risks that are part of your company. Where do you have issues? You may have them with smoking or obesity but there are other issues to face as well likely pertaining to safety and equipment issues. You need to be able to address all of these issues at hand as you want to be able to see a program that shows your employees how to manage their health and to get in shape. Planning a health fair that is unique to your company will be able to help you identify the health issues at hand. Health screenings are one of the best things that you can start with. They will help you and the employees to quickly identify the problems and then to put a plan of action in place for each employee. When each employee has their own unique program to work with, they will know how to focus on getting their health in check. As you plan a health fair you need to set up a good employee committee to help plan it and to be in charge of it. Then you want to assign each of them a different element to work with so they can accumulate some volunteers and others to help with the program. After you establish a good committee to help with the program your next step is going to work on brainstorming the particular activities that need to become part of your program. What elements do your staff members need to be aware of for their health and how can you help them in managing their health properly? Once it is all planned and you have all the right professionals and others to help you in getting the health fair in order your next step is to hand out the information to the employees and to host the fair. Once the fair is over you need to follow up with your staff. Find out if they felt it was a success and look for ways in which you can continue to encourage employee health. |
