Many organizations have found the usefulness of a blog and how it can aid in giving you credibility in your industry. If you are using a blog it is important that you understand what type of information you need to start blogging about and to look for ways in which you can generate content that your customers will appreciate and to find ways in which your blog can be quite successful. It can be frustrating at times for web owners that create awesome blogs but find that no one is reading them. What can you do in order to ensure that your blog is getting the views that it needs and is helping you to boost your credibility and to boost your sales as well? Let's look at some simple things you can incorporate to make an effective blog:

1. Focus on the content. Why do people want to come and read your blog? Do you have anything interesting to say? People come to blogs to read up on the content that you are posting. You need to really retool what you are saying on your blog if you want people to follow it. The content is what makes a blog successful and provides you with the ability to boost your credibility. What makes for quality content? It depends on your industry but usually it is information that is informative, exciting or entertaining to read, and provides the reader with something new to take away. Always create content that is accurate for your industry and offers the customers ways in which they can understand something better along with ways in which they can teach others or to share the information that you have given to them.
2. Navigation. Is it hard for people to find what they are looking for? If you have a website that is difficult for your users to navigate, you will lose followers. How do you label your posts? What about previous posts? How can your customers find the information that they need? You have to really look at the way that you have designed the navigation of the blog and to focus on making it as easy as possible for your customers to use.
3. Colors and graphics. Some people get too caught up in making a blog flashy. While you want your blog to look nice, you also need to focus on keeping it simple. Don't get too caught up with a bunch of colors and fancy graphics and things as it can make your blog appear cluttered and it can be difficult to read. The goal is to make your blog appealing to your customers instead of giving them a headache!
4. Advertise! Are you doing anything to let your customers know about your blog? If you are not advertising your blog, how can you expect anyone to read it? Use social media along with email newsletters to tell your customers about your blog. Being able to advertise to your customers will really go a long way in helping people to find out about your blog and will be able to really boost your credibility with the customers. Look for different ways in which you can link into your blog to generate more traffic and to get noticed by the search engines.
5. Frequency of posting. Sometimes people end up posting a lot and then do not do anything for months. You need to maintain a consistent level of posting on the blog. This will keep people coming back for more as they know that there will be something new and interesting for them to read up on.
