Top PC Manufacturers

manonlaptop30348010.jpg There are tons of companies that make PC's.There are some that aren't so good and some that are the top of the line, for PC's.When you buy a computer, you want it to last a long time and to be able to stand being used for a long time.To help you make your decision on what brand to buy, here are some top PC manufacturers.

Dell is one of the most well known brands of PC computers. It sold about 39,100,000 computers in 2006 according to IDC.It is the top selling brand. If you are going to get a PC it is probably the most recommended.Dell makes tons of different styles of computers, including different styles of laptops, and each computer can be personalized to whatever you want.

HP is the second top selling brand of computers. It came in right under Dell. They have a wider variety of products, and the name is probably more familiar to people than Dell.It has a better known name and so it is probably one of the best, if not the best, brand for a computer.HP is one of the top selling brands for electronics.

Lenovo is another top selling PC manufacturer.According to IDC it sold about 16,600,000 PC's in 2006.It is the third top selling PC manufacturer. The Acer brand came in fourth with 13,600,000 sales.Toshiba was fifth with 9,200,000 PC sales. These brands are still well known and do make good PC computers and laptops.Their products may not be as well advertised or as well priced for the every day consumer. They are still a good choice though, if you are deciding on what brand of PC to buy.

Other top PC manufacturers include NEC, Sony, Fujitsu-Siemens, and Gateway. They sold about 111,300,000 PC's combined in 2006 according to IDC.They accounted for almost 50 percent of the PC sales in 2006.

The PC manufacturers that are well known are usually the best to go with. They have the money and financing to put out commercials because of their sales. However, just because a company is well known, or known at all doesn't mean it has a good product. There are several brands of cars, like Kia for example, that is known for making cars, but the cars don't last very long. They may work great for a year but then die after just a short while. It is the same with computers, you may think you are getting a great computer for a really great price, but then you find out that it works well for a little while and then starts having lots of problems.

When you are deciding what brand of computer to buy, check magazines and books on consumer ratings. They will tell you how the brand stood up to the tests of time and usage. It will also tell you which models worked the best and which ones you should avoid.Just because you have a Dell laptop doesn't mean that it will work better than a Toshiba. The models are slightly different, but they can change a lot.You are usually fine with the best brands, but it is always a good idea to check the ratings out.
