Satellite TV: Free satellite

dish32354063.jpg
Satellite TV dealers and retailers are all competing for the business of potential satellite TV customers. The result is a selection of attractive "free" promotions offered by these dealers in attempts to stay competitive. Satellite TV subscriptions can be expensive purchases, often costing as much as $800 a year. However, with the array of free satellite promotions now available, there is no reason a new satellite subscriber should have to pay full prices for equipment or services.

The Free Satellite Myth
Many potential satellite TV customers hear or read about promotions offering completely free satellite. However, these offers do not exist, and any satellite TV dealer advertising such a deal is most likely advertising a scam. Free satellite promotions from authorized satellite TV dealers offer attractive incentives of free equipment and/or upgrades, but each of these are available only with a monthly subscription.

Obtaining satellite TV requires a subscription from a satellite TV provider. There are two major satellite TV providers: DirecTV and Dish Network. Both companies offer subscribers the chance to create their own satellite TV system that best suits their needs, and both offer attractive specials, deals, and rebates. Dish Network, however, is becoming popular as people circulate the appealing "free Dish Network" deal associated with it.

However, independent dealers often offer free equipment and tout better customer service. For this reason, there are always deals to be found, and most of them include free installation and free equipment.

In return for selling Direct TV or another network, these independent dealers are given a fixed amount for each satellite as well as commission on the number of sales they make.

A Peek Into the Near Future of Electronics Technology

How long do you think DVDs have around? 20 years? 10 years? Actually, they have only been around for about seven years, but it seems like they have been around much longer. Many of us can hardly remember life before DVDs. That can be attributed to how rapidly we can become acclimated to some innovations in electronics technology. I believe there are other electronics technologies, either just getting ready to take off, not widely available yet, or just around the corner, that are going to become adopted just as quickly in the near future.

Once such item is Voice over Internet Protocol, also known as VoIP. This innovation renders the whole concept of long distance virtually obsolete. It bypasses the traditional telephone company infrastructure and delivers phone service over a broadband internet connection to a regular phone. Similar to cell phones, this service is purchased based on a fixed and/or unlimited number of minutes. However, geographical divisions are generally made by country or continent, rather than by local calling areas or area codes. For example, a typical VoIP contract in the U.S. would stipulate unlimited calling to North America and 300 monthly minutes for calls to everywhere else. Unlike cell phone service, you are not charged for incoming calls. With VoIP service, area codes are not much of an issue, although you still must have one. However, some providers offer plans in which you can select any area code in your country or continent! The area code you choose mainly comes into play for those with traditional phone service who make calls to you. If you pick a California area code, for example, someone calling you from a traditional phone line would be billed as if they called California, even if they lived next door to you in New York.

Throughout the course of my research into the best design tools I have uncovered that the saying "you get what you pay for" holds all too true with cover design. Here is a review of my results. It is broken down into two categories:
(1)software,

(2) design services.

Software/Templates

If you perform a search on Google of e-book covers there really is only a few software products that dominate the first few pages of results.
