How do I backup my data over the Internet?

laptopandmouse45381940.jpg

How do I backup my data over the Internet? This is a fantastic question, for a lot of reasons. In fact, just the other day, I was finishing up an enormous report.Pages and pages of information, graphs, analysis, conclusions, the whole works. It took me days to do it; it was one of the biggest projects I've had to do in a long time.Of course I backed it up-I saved it on both my flash drive and my hard drive. And just as I was finishing up, well we all know the story. It's happened to everyone. My computer crashed.Turns out that I had a terrible virus infection, and I'm not talking about a cold. The entire thing was erased; I'm not entirely sure how, or why, but poof.It was gone.

Backup is a really important thing.I think that we've all learned that lesson at this point. Not a single person has gone through life without having that essential document just disappear into thin air because your computer decides that it can't handle running all of those programs and once and so it's going to freeze on you.You don't have any choice except to reboot the thing, and even if Word saved a draft of your document, it saved it half an hour ago and you're missing three pages. It's important to have at least two copies of all of your documents and files, and that's not just while you're working on them.Let's say that you have everything on your flash drive. So what happens if you lose it?On the other hand, you have everything saved on your hard drive. And then a virus infects your computer and destroys the whole thing. This is not a it'll-never-happen-to-me scenario. It's one of those situations where you don't ask if, but rather, when.

how do I find out who owns an ip address

Using IP addresses to track individuals

stickynotelaptop45383060.jpg Can I get someone's name and address from their IP address? This is a great question. There are a lot of myths and rumors that swirl around the Internet about IP addresses.I read a question on one message board on which a very, very concerned parent asked about IP addresses and stalkers.Apparently, this poor woman's kid had posted something rather mean and unflattering on someone else's blog or something like that. The owner of the website then replied to the kid.He told this kid that he had his IP address, and so he now knew his exact home address, his phone number, his name, his social security number, had access to credit cards and bank accounts, knew his work address, and basically every single confidential and private piece of information that you could know about a person and, of course, that he was going to come and get this poor kid.

How to repair problems with Outlook email configuration

coupleonlaptop30716102.jpg Why is Outlook sending email using the wrong account, and how do I fix it?This is a great question, because this is an especially vexing and annoying problem that Outlook has.So here's the situation. You've set up Outlook and, because it's oh ever so helpful and convenient, you've configured several different email accounts to run through it.You can basically set up however many you want. Then Outlook will send email through a specific account that you tell it to.So let's say that you have one main email account that you want to use, or maybe even you have a main email account and then you have another account that you use when you post on blogs and message boards and things like that. You don't want to use your main personal account when you post on blogs and message boards because sometimes those email addresses can be picked up by spammer and who knows who else. You don't want any of that spam or junk mail coming to your regular account. So, you think that you have everything all worked out, Outlook is managing and handling all of your different email accounts just the way that you want it to because, hey, you're not getting any message that it's having trouble and problems doing what you tell it to.And then you notice that it's not working.Your main personal email account is the one showing up when you post on blogs and message boards.Or let's say that you are sending emails to people and horrifically enough, your terrifying ex-girlfriend's name and email account are the ones showing up as the sender because she used to live with you and you two shared a computer. No wonder nobody's writing you back! They all think that your ex is hunting them down!

You may be surprised to see that when you type a search into Google's search box, a list of previously searched for terms are displayed. You may find it interesting to know that these previous searches are not saved by Google, but are actually saved by your web browser through a feature called "AutoComplete".

How to ensure you have enough bandwidth

cables19108619.jpg What is bandwidth?
Bandwidth, quite simply, is the amount of internet traffic, data, or information that can be sent between one location and another within any given period of time. Bandwidth, usually measured in seconds, is basically the speed of your computer. High speed internet or cable modems have more bandwidth than dial-up connections. This is why dial-up is so slow, comparatively; it cannot handle a great deal of information at once. So downloading something like a video would take much longer than it would with a connection that has more bandwidth, because dial-up only allows a small amount of data to transfer through each second.

Bluetooth technology has changed talking on the phone as we know it. It is much more convenient and safer when using Bluetooth devices. If you would like to have technology you can trust and is convenient for everyday use, especially while driving, then look at some of Bluetooth's technology considerations.

The Bluetooth name comes from a 10th century Danish King, Harald Bluetooth, who reigned from 940 to 985. King Bluetooth was the one who unified Denmark and brought order to the country. The symbolic nature of this is what led the maker of Bluetooth use the Bluetooth name.

There are many advantages when considering using Bluetooth technology:

I lost my Gmail password, how do I access my Gmail account?

It seems like just about everything, from email accounts to banks, requires a password these days. Because of that, it's very easy to forget or lose your passwords; even writing them down doesn't always help.

But if you lose your Gmail password, don't worry. You can still access your account through the password retrieval system they have on their Gmail sign in page. Gmail sends you your password through one of two ways:
1. The password is sent to your secondary email address, if you provided one. When you sign up for your Gmail account, you had the option of including another email address as a back-up for times like this. This is recommended in case you forget or lose your password. It is also considered the safest option for retrieving your password, since it can be sent to you without having to ask you your security question.
2. If you didn't provide a secondary email address, your security question is asked. Once you give the answer, you can reset your password. When you sign up for a Gmail account, you are asked to pick a security question from a drop down menu. These range from "What is my library card number" to "What was my first teacher's name." Or, if you don't like any of those, you can write in your own question.

How do I change my Gmail password if I forgot it?

Like many other free e-mail account service providers, Gmail has provided its users with a way of retrieving lost or forgotten log in information if needed. The first thing that needs to be done is to go to the Gmail log in screen and right below the box where you would enter your username or password (depending on which of the two you have forgotten) there is an option that says "I cannot access my account," click on this option and select the problem that you are having.

Forgotten password:
When you forget your password the Gmail security system will ask you to provide your username. After entering in the correct username, Gmail will send instructions to the secondary email address you provided during signup. If you don't have a secondary email address, if you no longer have access to that account, or if you don't remember what other account you entered, you will need to wait five days. After five days you should go back to the Gmail sign in page and re-select the 'Forgot your password?' link.In order to protect the security of its users the account must remain idle for the five day waiting period in order to ensure that there are not security breaches and that the individual claiming to be the account owner is in fact legitimate.Just so that you are aware, the Gmail team cannot waive the five day requirement or access your password under any circumstances.Once the five day waiting period is passed you will be able to reset your forgotten password by answering a security question that you set up when you first opened the account. If you are for any reason unable to answer your security question correctly or to access your secondary email account, the Gmail team cannot provide further assistance and your only other option is to create an entirely new account. If you are concerned that your inability to access your account is the fault of a hacker or other intruder you should contact the Gmail security center by visiting the link to the Security Center.

Why is Outlook sending email using the wrong account, and how do I fix it?

Why is Outlook sending email using the wrong account, and how do I fix it?This is a great question, because this is an especially vexing and annoying problem that Outlook has.So here's the situation.

Renting software over the Internet

Renting software over the Internet is a fairly new concept. There are some great advantages to doing so, but there are also some drawbacks considering the infancy of the software rental market. It's definitely something you can look into without making a long-term commitment and if you don't care for it you can always go out, buy and install the software yourself.

The main idea behind renting software is that you or your business can "rent" access to software over an Internet connection rather than buying it and installing it on your desktop. An Internet company, often known as an ASP or application service provider hosts the software and usually charges customers on a per-use basis or they charge a monthly fee for unlimited use.To use the software, you go to your provider's (ASP's) web site and log in to start working. For example, say you own a company with 100 computers.Employees needing access to Microsoft Word on a daily basis operate fifteen of these computers.Rather than buying the program and getting fifteen licenses for use on these computers, you can "rent" access to the software and pay a monthly fee for unlimited access. Now suppose you also have fifty of those employees that occasionally use Microsoft Excel programs. You don't want to invest a lot of money into buying a program that is seldom used, so you can "rent" access to this software and pay per-use.Whenever these employees need to make a spreadsheet, they simply go to the ASP's web site, enter their login information and start working.

How do I remove myself from the search engines?

How do I remove myself from the search engines?First let's talk about search engines. What search engines, like Google, Yahoo, MSN, and hundreds and hundreds of other search engines do, is they go out and they search all of the billions and billions of pages of information on the Internet. And then they collect all of that information and they index it.So then what you can do is direct a search engine to search through all of its collections and all of its indices for a particular term.It will then pull up all of the pages that have a particular name in them, for instance, and will bring up the most exact hits and matches first.

How do I find out who owns a hotmail account?

How do I find out who owns a hotmail account? There are a lot of different reasons why you might want to find out who owns a hotmail account.Maybe someone is spamming you. They send you abusive email after abusive email. You can't stop it.They're driving you crazy. They're clogging up your mailbox.Maybe they're actually being personally abusive. They're attacking you, they're threatening you, and they're basically driving you mad.Of course you want to find out who owns the Hotmail account. Then you could have at least some way to legally shut them down, or at least find out who the owner of the Hotmail account is and then be abusive back to them.
To find out how you find out the owner of a hotmail account, let's start by talking about hotmail.Hotmail is one of the most popular email systems out there. It's popular for a few reasons.First of all, it's completely free.Of course you can pay money for Hotmail Plus, but basic Hotmail is utterly free.Because Hotmail is completely free, there's no sort of loss on the part of the user if he or she wants to open up multiple accounts. You can own as many Hotmail accounts as pleases you, and you can use them for whatever you want. The way that you sign up for a Hotmail account is the key to why it's so blasted hard to find out who the owner is.The fact is that when you sign up for any free email account like Hotmail or Yahoo or Juno or Gmail, you don't have to tell the truth about any of your personal information.Nobody's going to check up on you.Nobody has any way to check up on you. This can actually be a good thing--let's say that you want to set up an account that you'll use when you have to log on to other websites or set up accounts, and you don't want anyone to be able to get your personal information some how.So you use an account that has a bogus name and other information that goes along with it.The thing is that there is no way for anyone to find out who you really are.

How do I change my MSN Hotmail password if I forgot it?

How do I change my MSN Hotmail password if I forgot it?This is a great question, and a question that it seems like a lot of people need an answer for, based on how people ask the question.

Now let's say that you forgot your MSN Hotmail password. This could be because you don't use your account very often and when you try to log in, you just can't remember that blasted number letter combination.Or perhaps you were hit on the head very hard and can't remember anything at all, in which case you might not be able to get your MSN Hotmail password if you can't remember the answer to your secret question.More on that later.

Perhaps you've been traveling for months and you haven't had any access to email, since you've been in the middle of nowhere, and when you try to log in to tell your family that you're okay, your travel-addled brain simply can't remember that password.Whatever the reason, there's no reason to freak out because you can't remember your password.Hopefully.

How does email work?

Email servers are probably about the most complicated servers to set up because not only is there a huge number of security implications to running your own mail server but they also tend to be split up into many small parts taht all do different, highly specialized, things. This page aims to give you an overview of how and email system works. I don't pretend to be an expert on these things but this should be a good starting point.

At the pointy end of the system is the MTA which stands for mail transport agent. This is the bit that does the grunt work of moving email around on the Internet. Probably the most popular MTA is sendmail but there are plenty of others to choose from including courier-mta, postfix and qmail as well as pay for offerings. The MTA probably has the most security issues as it is world facing. There used to be problems (and to some extent there still is) with open relays. These are badly configured MTAs that allow anyone to connect and send email through them. Many modern MTAs make it deliberately quite difficult to configure an open realy.

Can I use Outlook Express or Outlook to access my MSN Hotmail account?

Can I use Outlook Express or Outlook to access my MSN Hotmail account? This is a great question for a number of different reasons. Both Outlook Express/Outlook and MSN Hotmail are part of the vast MSN empire.MSN stands for MicroSoft Network.Outlook Express and Outlook are like MSN Hotmail in that they are all email clients. You can use all three to view, read, manage, organize, write, and send your emails. The difference lies in what you have to do to use them.Outlook Express and Outlook are stand alone email clients. That means that you don't have to be online and go through a webpage to use them.If you are surfing the web and see an email address, and you want to send an email to that particular person, whether it's a journalist whose article you want to respond to or Support that you want to contact, you click on that hotlink email.Chances are that then the email client that will come up is Outlook or Outlook Express.MSN Hotmail differs from Outlook and Outlook Express. It's a free email service (unless you use MSN Hotmail Premium), and like most free email services, you can only access MSN Hotmail online, through the webpage.

Can I get someone's name and address from their IP address?

Can I get someone's name and address from their IP address?

How do I resolve my MSN Hotmail sign in problems?

You could be having difficulty signing in to MSN Hotmail email account for various reasons. We will explore some of these hang-ups and some troubleshooting solutions you might want to try.

If the only problem you are having with your computer is your email account, the easiest fixes include:

- Check to make sure your sign-in name is typed in correctly.Although most sign-in names are not case-sensitive, some names are.
- Your Hotmail account may have expired.A Hotmail account is deleted if it is not used during the first 10 days after you register or for any consecutive 60 days. Because Hotmail cannot reactivate a deleted account, you must register for a new Hotmail account.

How can I connect to my home computer from work?

You may have a need or desire to connect to your home computer from work. There are several factors that you must consider before trying to connect. Most importantly, will your work allow it and if it does will they help support it.

Your best method to find access to home would be to approach your IT department and see if they have software that supports access. Many companies realize that employees work at home and offer support to access files at home.Other companies feel that accessing home computers put their networks at risk because they can't control the security of home computers. If home computers are hacked by thieves then they could potentially gain access to the company through the home computer.

Email whitelisting and blacklisting is a method used to filter your email. If you don't want email from a certain email address, then you add that email address to your blacklist. If you are positive you want all email from a certain email address, then you can add that address to your whitelist and all email sent from that address will bypass your email filters.

How to change your MSN Hotmail password

You can change your MSN Hotmail password fairly easy once you know how. However, you must know your current password in order to change it.If you have forgotten your current password, then it is impossible to change your MSN Hotmail password with one exception which will be explained later.

You should change your password periodically.A software program can figure out your password if it has enough time.A good suggestion would be every two months. You will probably want to write it down because if you change the password and then immediately go on a week long vacation, you may find yourself not knowing how to log into your account. Then you will not be able to change your password with one exception.

How can I tell if email I sent has been read by the recipient?

You want to know if somebody read the email. The quick and best answer is, there is no way to tell for sure if somebody has read your email.

The problem with this request is that not all systems `talk' to each other the same.Computers support many different styles of email and some support multiple email accounts.Often a person will have a hotmail or yahoo email account for playing around on the internet and then use another account for their personal email. At work, the Information Systems Team often has their own email infrastructure that isn't supported on home computers.Because of these differences, it is often hard to tell if an email has been received, opened or much less read.
However, there are several methods you can use to attempt to find out if a person has read your email. Most email programs have a delivery confirmation option that you can choose when sending an email.Without getting too specific with technical terms, not all programs support the same type of requests. So you can check the confirmation option, but the receivers email program may not support that mail feature.

How do I install additional network protocols like ipx or netbeui?

TCP/IP, IPX, and NETBEUI are all protocols that you can run a network with. The World Wide Web internet communicates using the TCP/IP protocol. This means a computer must also use this protocol if it wants to communicate using the web. However, you can install and use IPX or NETBUEI on your personal network. The advantages of using IPX or NETBUEI are that they do not require all of the hardware that TCP/IP requires and they can be easier to set up.

Maximize Your "Froogling" for Increased Website Profits

Are you familiar with Froogle? If you are an online merchant, you certainly should be.

Froogle is Google's product search engine and was launched as a "beta product" in December 2002. Froogle's significance is in its ability to generate free "qualified" visitor traffic for online merchant products...assuming they gain "maximum exposure".

What can "maximum exposure" in Froogle produce for online merchants? Merchants who have pursued Froogle maximization for their products have reported significant traffic and associated sales increases. One merchant generated over $19,000 in less than 20 days. Examples like this suggest that Froogle maximization is a worth-while strategy.

There are multiple ways to access Froogle, both voluntarily and involuntarily. Involuntarily methods include Google spidering your product web pages and adding them to their Froogle product index, or if you have a Yahoo or eBay store, your products may be automatically indexed. However, the most effective way to access Froogle comes through voluntarily actions on your part through submitting a data feed (txt file) directly to Froogle.

Yet rather than going into details about Froogle data feed submission techniques and requirements, the focus of this article is on highlighting the most important strategies for gaining "maximum exposure."

Why Is Spam Such a Problem?

Spam can be a lot more damaging than you might think. Obviously, they are the most annoying thing that you can receive through your inbox, but it goes deeper than that. If you are like the millions of other internet email users, you know that sending and receiving email is a free service that comes with your internet service.

Internet service providers are great for providing you with a way to send letters to your friends and family while saving you the cost of postage and envelopes. You can even send cards for free with an email address. But don't let the free service make you think that you don't actually have to pay for it. Let me explain.

Internet service providers and web hosts do not get their email services for free. They have to pay for something that we do not have to pay for as consumers. They have to pay for bandwidth. That might not mean much to you, but for these companies, it means that they are forced to produce mass emails, and this means that their costs increase as well.

It may not seem to be a matter for the mere consumer, but let me tell you that this does affect you; here is how:

Since they are forced to send mass emails, which in turn raise their costs for service, you as the receiver are forced to pay more money for you internet service. This in a way helps ISP's to reduce their overhead costs.

A Basic Introduction to Blogging

Web logging first appeared on the net in the mid-1990s. The term "web log" was initially coined refer to a server's log file and then expanded to include the meaning of online personal journaling. Later on, to avoid confusion, the word "blog" was adopted to refer to personal journaling. Today a blog is defined as an online publication where an author puts his or her personal thoughts and opinions from the most intimate to corporate ideas, concerns or events, in chronological order on the net.

Although, there are as many kinds of blogs on line as there are people, most of these will roughly fall into these kind of bloggers: Personal Bloggers (the original use of blogging), then there are the organizational and business Bloggers.

Organizational blogs are meant to facilitate communications between its internal and external audiences. It may also provide information for the external publics' use.

Business blogs promote products or services for profit. They also increase awareness about the company, as well as establish itself as an authority with customers, vendors, through publications that demonstrate their expertise in the market.

Do You And Your Website Have Credibility?

I recently received an unsolicited e-mail from some company offering me their search engine optimization services for $199. Even though I had absolutely no interest in the offer, just out of curiosity, I decided to check out this company with the various search engines.

Incredibly, they were nowhere to be found! I couldn't find them on Google, Yahoo, Dogpile, anywhere! That's because they didn't really exist. They never did. They were just another one of the many prevalent e-mail scams out there.

The point is, even though I had zero interest in their offer, had I been interested, this company's credibility was totally shot, for two reasons: First of all, for spamming me and secondly for obviously being a scam at best.

Another time, I was surfing the Internet, checking out different business opportunities to review for one of my clients, when I came across this company selling "turnkey" website packages for $1295 and up. As I was reading the information about the various packages they had to offer, I came across their various addresses and telephone numbers.

Again, after doing some checking, I discovered those addresses didn't even exist. In addition, the company was based in Israel and the only type of payment they would accept were wire transfers.

Anyway, there were more than enough red flags and alarm bells for me to get the picture pretty quickly. This company was an obvious scam and I advised my client of that fact.

50 Ways To Use Your Website

A website is the most versatile and cost-effective marketing tool on the market. It is also an investment. After all, you are building a shopfront. In a nutshell, you can use your website to:

Enhance your professional image
1. Look professional and as BIG as large corporations.
2. Pre-sell yourself to new clients even before you meet them.
3. Supply a meaningful and intuitive address related to your type of service. It is easier to remember www.marketingcues.com rather than a long ISP email address such as www.yourInternetServiceProvidername.com/~marketingcues.
4. Provide a permanent address with up-to-date contact details and opening hours. You can change Internet Service Provider or move physical premises and your customers will always find you and your marketing efforts are not lost.

Boost confidence in your business
5. Demonstrate your knowledge and expertise with tips, articles and editorials.
6. Build your credibility by displaying awards and providing testimonials.
7. Encourage potential clients. A free web hosting address can look dubious and show less commitment to your business.
8. Give staff details to humanise your business, to show that you are "real" people.
9. Provide background information on your business.

Provide current and useful information
10. Publish a catalogue or portfolio of your products and services.
11. Inform your visitors about the benefits and applications of your products.
12. Categorise information according to target audiences. For example, discuss benefits of a dishwasher to potential buyers and give installation instructions to installers.
13. Arrange table of comparisons of product specifications and prices to help your client's decision making.
14. Publish a newsletter.
15. List upcoming products, services, events.

How to Get More Visitors to Your Website

When you were five or ten years old you may have played the game of hide and seek where the object was to avoid being found. The longer you could stay hidden and the harder it was to be discovered the better.

As a business owner or someone responsible for marketing a business you want to do the opposite. Instead of remaining hidden from view, you want to make it as easy as possible for members of your target market to find you again and again.

You may have a PhD, worked for big name clients, provide outstanding service or have a new ground breaking product but if people can't find you it is tough to build revenue. What you want is to be found so prospects contact you and you can convert them to client status.

What happens when someone is looking for a new product or service? More and more customers and consumers use the internet to search for the goods and services they need, to the point that 'google' has become a verb. They may also use the search engines provided by Yahoo, AOL and MSN.

A prospect types in a set of keywords, your name or your company name into a search engine, with Google being used by far the most frequently. Can they find your website? Go to www.Google.com and try the following three tests:

1. If a prospect hasn't heard of your company they won't be searching for your firm by name. Instead they will be searching using keywords that describe the problem they want solved or the type of information they are looking for. If they are looking for ways to motivate employees, that's what they will type in the search box. If they are looking for adventure vacation ideas for Costa Rica, they'll enter that in the search box.

An Overview Of Pay Per Click Search Engine Fundamentals

Forbes magazine has reported that pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least $8 billion by 2008.

The three fundamental core elements that form the basis of a successful pay per click advertising program are constant monitoring, analysis, and refinement.

Pay per click search engines offer a way to buy your way to the top of search results for any term you wish. With proper management, and a clear focus, pay per click search engines can offer some of the most well targeted and economical advertising on the Internet.

Pay per click advertising works through a bidding process, and the ads appear prominently on the results pages of search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The highest bidder for a particular word or phrase receives top placement, and depending on the engine, the top three to five bidders also generally also receive placement on the first page of unpaid search results.

Fundamental questions to be addressed when formulating a pay per click search engine strategy should include the following:

When is the top pay per click bid necessary for highest conversion, and when will bidding for a second or third place position create a more attractive return on investment (ROI)?

Tools for Online Tracking

In order to determine which advertising and marketing efforts are effective you must have ways to measure the results of those efforts. Alerts and instant notifications can be instrumental in monitoring search engine position, trademarked terms, monitoring competitors and staying abreast of online occurrences. And, of course, the notification can be used for "ego searches".

Ego Searches What is an ego search? Find out where your name or company is mentioned, view forum posts or online articles that mention your name or company.

Trademarks The best offense is a good defense. By monitoring newsgroups or search engines for trademarked terms, you often head off a future conflict. As a trademark owner, it is your responsibility to actively protect your mark. Otherwise, you could lose your trademark rights. Monitoring tools send immediate notification should any suspected trademark infringements occur.

Search Position Statistics show that more than 85% of Internet users find web sites with the help of the search engines. Therefore, a website's search engine position is crucial to its success. Prudent webmasters regularly check their search engine position. Monitoring fluctuations and re-indexing of major search engines affects keyword terms and phrases. Monitoring of positions will alert webmasters to any shifts before sales decline.

Making Your Website More Compelling

The Internet is a remarkable publishing medium. With just a little effort, you can make your web pages visually irresistible by playing with color, shapes and text. Whether your websites are already launched or you're ready to create your first few, use the 3 simple steps below to kick things up a notch and make your sites professional and appealing.

Step 1: Grab People's Attention with a Photo or Graphic.

Without a logo or visual image to represent the central offering on your web page, you are asking potential clients to immediately take a big leap and dive into your text. Why risk the possibility of them not reading your important message? People browsing the web are notoriously impatient. Capture their attention with a photo/graphic before they click off your site.

Choose the perfect image from Photodisc, ClipArt or Corbis for as little as $9 to $90 per image. Human beings are visual creatures. Consider your favorite magazine for a moment. Would it still be your favorite if it used only text on its cover this month?

Step 2: Boost the credibility of your service or product by using a professional color scheme.

Cyber Alert

As a computer and internet user you now have a fresh source of information to protect your computer from the increasingly devious and deadly virus attacks which seem to be coming more and more frequently of late.

The government has set up a program, called the National Cyber Alert System - a part of the Department of Homeland Security. Once you've signed up you'll receive email alerts about significant computer virus attacks and detailed information you can use to protect your computer from that virus. These alerts may also include notifications about occasional weaknesses discovered in the security of various commercial software products and, presumably, preventive steps one can take to eliminate that weakness.

The alert system is not part of the Department of Homeland Security's colorized warning system, which reflects the current perceived national terrorist threat level.

The email alerts won't be issued on a regular basis but will be released as often as the need arises. More information on these cyber alerts can be had at www.us-cert.gov

Search Engine Optimization For Blogs

Blogging software is really a simple Content Management System (CMS) that easily adds new pages and integrates them into your site's navigational structure and linkage.

Blogs and blog posts are naturally search engine friendly because they are text-rich, link-rich, frequently-updated webpages that use stylesheets or CSS, and have very little extraneous HTML.

Optimizing a blog is very similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post similar to optimizing a web page. But depending on the blogging service or software you use, the results may look somewhat different.

If you follow some simple rules for search engine optimization, your blog can rank much higher than static website pages in the search engine results pages.

Here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.

1. Use your primary keyword in your blog domain

Whether you purchase a separate domain (recommended) for your blog, or host it on a blogging service or a subdomain of your own site, try to ensure that your URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for.

For example, if you want your blog to get found for the keyword "rss" get a domain with the keyword "rss", or use the keyword in a subdomain as in https://ebizwhiz-publishing.com/rssnews/

Getting a domain name with your own name might make for good branding, especially if yours is a personal blog.

Five Credibility Boosting Elements for Web Sites

Who are you, really? And why should I trust you? Without face-to-face contact or a trusted intermediary who has vouched for you, visitors to your web site often have these two questions paramount in their minds when considering doing business with you. Use these five elements to boost your perceived trustworthiness and coax possible customers to step forward and buy.

1. Contact information. This is the easiest credibility booster to implement. Yet amazingly, many businesses ignore the power of simply stating where they're located on the planet and providing a telephone number and email address. Without real-world ways to contact you, some visitors will wonder whether you have something to hide and whether you can be relied on to deliver the goods. With contact information, you come across as legitimate and more reliable.

2. Photos. You don't need Hollywood-style looks to make an impact by including your photo on your site. So long as you aren't frowning or looking depressed, a photo makes you seem more real, appealing and accessible. Likewise, pictures of your company location or of your sales reps who are clearly not models but actual staff members help bring your company to life. And it's easier than ever to add the dimension of voice to a site via an audio welcome. To get a credibility boost from it, record this message yourself instead of hiring a professional.

9 Ways To Make Your Website More Presentable

Your website works as your spokesperson presenting the message you wish to convey. Thinking in terms of this analogy often helps you to look at your website from a different angle and make visitor-friendly changes.

Imagine a situation - you have to make an announcement about an exciting event or an opportunity. You have appointed a spokesperson to make a presentation on your behalf to an audience consisting of invitees, interested persons and on-lookers. How would you like her to perform? Your website should do the job of a real, living spokesperson. Following considerations will make your website more presentable.

1) Main Theme - The presentation in the above example has been organized for a particular occasion. Similarly each webpage should be built around a particular theme. It doesn't help if too much information is given on a webpage on seemingly unrelated issues.

2) Fast Opening - You would certainly not like your spokesperson to be late and make your audience impatient. When a visitor clicks URL of your webpage or is redirected there, the webpage should open real fast. Your webpage gets just a few seconds to engage your visitor's attention. You would like your visitors to spend those few seconds looking at your webpage rather than waiting for the webpage to open.

Orient Your First-time Web Site Visitor

Imagine spinning someone around so profoundly and for so long that when you finally tell them to open their eyes, they ask "Where am I?" not knowing if they are even on the same continent they started from. When someone comes to your web site from a search engine or through a link from another site, it's like that for them. They may have little or no context within which to understand your home page - or another page deep within your site that they've landed on.

By imagining and engineering your site for that profoundly disoriented visitor, you can add subtle clues and explicit messages to your site that orient the person arriving at your site from who knows where. You can do this without "dumbing down" your presentation in any way, turning confused visitors into converted ones.

For instance, while judging sites for the Webby Awards, I've sometimes found myself at a home page about a city that appears justifiably proud of itself for all that it's achieved, yet I haven't a clue what state or province or even what country that city is located in. It's easier to appreciate what you're reading if you know that Kamloops is in British Columbia, Canada and not in Scotland or New Zealand.

Likewise, when people are searching for a service provider and you do what you do only in a specific geographical area, say so right on your home page. For instance, if you provide emergency on-site technical support throughout Southern Vermont, say so. You'll have fewer potential clients clicking away in confusion and have fewer inappropriate phone or email inquiries to deal with.

Does Email Work?

Have you noticed how much email marketers are sounding like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz lately: "Filters and spammers and laws, Oh My!"

Pretty much everywhere I go I hear people reading the obituary of email marketing. Everywhere, that is, except the companies that actually measure the effectiveness of real-life email campaigns.

Here are the real-world results Double Click found for the second quarter of 2003:

For every 1,000 emails sent, here are the average results:

919 actually get delivered 366 get opened by the recipient 69 generate a site visit 2.65 people buy $98.48 is the average sale

Does that sound impressive? Let me put it in slightly different terms:

On average-not just in the perfect campaign, this is average-when someone sends out 1 million emails, they generate 2,650 sales for a total dollar volume of (drum roll please.)

Do I Need A Feed?

Do I Need an RSS Feed? RSS has been around for more than 10 years but has only recently become popular. RSS provides headlines and summaries of information in a concise and standardized way.

Benefits for Publishers

1.) Avoid Spam Filters
Statisticians estimate that 70% of the email transferred each day is spam (unsolicited email). With that statistic, even opt-in users risk losing valuable messages in the cesspool of spam. RSS feeds effectively nullify spam as an issue. Requesting feeds allow users to maintain complete control over the content they view. Users can easily opt-in and out of feeds that provide content of interest or importance.

2.) Expanded Reach RSS allows publishers to reach a number of new and different markets that typically are less crowded with competition. Many small businesses are often slow to adopt or learn new technologies, giving businesses that lead the way a competitive advantage.

5 Little Known Ways To Generate Free Traffic

Most people have the notion that generating traffic is a one-off event, and it involves spending huge sums of money on advertising.

Nothing can be further from the truth.

First of all, it's possible to open up streams of autopilot traffic geometrically, surely and steadily over time.

Secondly, it costs next to nothing to do it, if you know how.

Here are 5 instantly implementable methods to open up new traffic streams without needing to spend a dime.

Free Traffic Method #1: Contribute Content

Writing an ebook is a time consuming and arduous task. In comparison, writing a chapter of rock solid content is much easier and more achievable.

I've personally been invited to contribute content to many people's info-products, usually in the form of 'chapters', and this has resulted in a lots of quality traffic that is not only free, but presold.

Web Content Writing: Combining Links and Content

When you write for a web page there is a great attraction for using hyper-links. Even I cannot resist the temptation of linking different pages to a single paragraph just to encapsulate lots of information in short text.

Although a web page is mostly written in a hyper-text language, it does not mean we use hyper-links at the drop of a hat. They are extremely useful, no denying that, but an over-dosage can end up utterly distracting the reader.

Just as a side note, when I talk of links, I don't mean the navigation links. Whenever I mention hyper-links, they are the links, for instance:

A web page content writer can be searched for either on Yahoo! or on Google but Amrit Hallan has written many articles on copywriting and web content writing.

There are so many links in the above paragraph to take the reader somewhere else. Here, they might be solving some purpose because I want to promote myself, but if I just insert hyper-links to show I have lots of information, it can prove to be really distracting.

10 Secrets To Improving Your Website's Conversion Ratio

Anyone may use this article free of charge, provided the article is not altered and the resource box remains intact.

According to the so-called experts, a decent conversion ratio is right around one percent. In other words, one out of every one hundred visitors to your website converts to a sale.

Personally, I think you should ignore what the experts say, and strive to achieve as high a conversion ratio as possible. You should never be satisfied. You should always be looking for ways to improve your conversion ratio. My website consistently converts anywhere from 3 to 5 percent, and often converts as high as ten percent!

Unless you're selling a big-ticket item and making $100 or more per sale, it's extremely difficult to make any real money with only a one percent conversion ratio.

Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, and if your website is attracting hundreds or even thousands of visitors a day, then obviously you can do quite well with a one percent or lower conversion ratio.

But what if you don't have that kind of traffic--and most websites don't. Then what? What if you're selling a $20 e-book and you're only attracting a hundred visitors a day to your website? With a one percent conversion ratio, that means your website is making a measly $20 a day. And believe me, that's much more common than you realize.

The Internet - a numbers game....

If you take a close look at this 'working online' business, you will see that it is quite simply a numbers game (this is actually the case with most if not all businesses).

At the most basic level, building a successful website is just a matter of getting sufficient visitors to the site and ensuring that some of them purchase something. I am a firm believer that you can sell pretty much anything if the price is right and whilst your products may not appeal to everyone, they will appeal to someone.

So, back to the numbers game. Once you know the percentage of visitors to your site that will actually buy something (the conversion ratio), you can give yourself something to aim for.....

If one out of every 100 visitors buys something then you have a conversion ratio of 1% (which online is actually not that bad). This means that 500 visitors to your site should result in five sales.

To increase the number of sales there are a couple of things you could do. Firstly, you could increase your conversion ratio by improving your sales page or reducing your prices etc. Alternatively, you could work the numbers game and increase your traffic - you already know that 500 visitors will give you five sales so if you can get 1000 visitors to your site, you should generate ten sales (assuming that the quality of the traffic is equal to or better than that which you are already receiving).

20 Website Mistakes That Cost Me Three Years and $22,000

"Learn from other's mistakes," my Mom always advised me. Learn from mine, save three precious marketing years, tons of frustration, energy, and come out way ahead of the game. Best of all, you probably didn't lose thousands of dollars like I did.

1. If you use a shopping cart, check if the zip code request appears before the city and state on the order form. Most carts don't to this. Why is this important? Because if ordering is not easy, I mean real easy, for your buyers, they drop out in the process. Ordering should be as effortless as possible for the purchaser.

If the zip code is before the city and state and is set to drop their city and state into the next two fields automatically, it saves the purchaser's time. Believe it or not, this one "little" item leaves a memory chip and they will remember the experience in the future. Did you know that 60% of buyers opt-out and don't complete the transaction because of the little things.

2. Do you have boxes or radial buttons that they need to check off in the ordering process? Yes, then go ahead and fill-in the checkmark in for them. Let them uncheck it if they do not want the choice you are gave them. Again, making it easier to buy from you and reduce the chance of them leaving before completing the transaction.

How Bad Search Terms Can Booby Trap Your Content

Web users type in some pretty far-out search terms when looking for information online. People are in a hurry and often don't bother with spelling, correct syntax, or logical phrasing. So they enter terms like:

"girl sport shorts" "car used for sale" "copywriting engine optimization search services"

Those terms end up in lists of keyword phrases churned out by keyword suggestion tools such as Overture's. Hard to believe but Overture claims that last term is queried over 5 times a day... respectable numbers but how on earth do you write a term like that into copy that flows and makes sense?

Those of us who write search engine optimized copy have to face this dilemma regularly:

Do we use a slightly bent phrase that is frequently searched on? Or do we opt for a safer, more correct term? The answer can be found simply by looking at the mangled copy that results from using offbeat or grammatically garbled search terms.

Google Proof Your Site with Links

Let me try reading your mind. You're thinking, "What? Google proof my site with links? I thought links helped Google rank my pages higher?"

And you're absolutely right. They do.

But links do something else. They give you a backup source of traffic for those days, weeks, or months when Google spasms out. Something content alone can't do.

So while content and on-page optimization count, to me links are what separates the men from the boys.

Now links come in three flavors:

- Directory Links - Reciprocal Links - One Way Links

Let's briefly cover each.

====> Directory Links
Unlike some, I'm not especially enamoured with directory links. For me their role has been to serve as the initial link(s) for a site so Google can find it. Other than that I find them more trouble than they're worth. Unless they're specifically targeted to your niche.

Google's Trap, DMOZ's Nap, And Yahoo!'s Crap

Anyone may use this article free of charge, provided the article is not altered and the resource box remains intact.

On November 16th, 2003, Google commenced an update (the Florida update) which had a catastrophic effect for a very large number of websites and, in the process, turned search engine optimization upside down. It is common to give alphabetical names to Google's updates in the very same way that names are given to hurricanes, and this one became known as "Florida".

In a nutshell, a vast number of pages, many of which had ranked at or near the top of the results for a very long time, suddenly disappeared from the results altogether.

To so many on the Internet, Google has become the omnipotent "hand of God" and it's sickening! Why are so many people falling into the trap of optimizing their website's to cater to Google's ever-changing algorithms? I refuse to play that game! I personally could care less about my search engine rankings. I never have. My search engine rankings go up and down like a yo-yo! They have for years. Yet, I'm still able to comfortably support myself and my family.

5 Tips To Explode Your Site Traffic

One thing you can never have too much of online is web site traffic. If you're looking for ways to drive more visitors to your site, try these traffic generating tips.

TRAFFIC TIP #1: Develop Several Pages Focused On Particular Keywords

Search Engine specialists don't recommend using external doorway or gateway pages, since sites are being penalized for having duplicate pages. Instead, develop several webpages on your site, each of which is focused on a different keyword or key phrase. For example, rather than listing all your services on a single webpage, try developing a separate one for each. These pages will rank higher for their keywords since they contain targeted rather than general content. And since not many people are doing this yet you'll find it's possible to get several top 10 rankings.

TRAFFIC TIP #2: Pay Super Affiliates To Promote Your Site

Hand pick webmasters with popular sites or list owners with large, responsive lists and offer them $100 just for signing up for your affiliate program and promoting your link. With this approach you'll definitely get their attention and ensure that you sign up real affiliates who will actively promote your products and services. Even just 3 or 4 of these affiliates can cause a substantial increase in your site's traffic (and your sales!).

How To Dramatically Improve Your Website's Conversion Ratio

Anyone may use this article free of charge, provided the article is not altered and the resource box remains intact.

According to the so-called experts, a decent conversion ratio is right around one percent. In other words, one out of every one hundred visitors to your website converts to a sale.

Personally, I think a one percent conversion ratio sucks! My website consistently converts right around ten percent. And so do a lot of my Internet marketing collegues. I can assure you, the websites of superstars like Marlon Sanders, Terry Dean and others convert a lot higher than one percent.

Why? Well, besides knowing what we're doing, we're also ultra-competitive and don't settle for mediocre results. And with very few exceptions, a one percent conversion ratio is mediocre.

Unless you're selling a big-ticket item and making $100 or more per sale, it's extremely difficult to make any real money with only a one percent conversion ratio.

A Fundamental Overview Of Pay Per Click Search Engines

Forbes magazine has reported that pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least $8 billion by 2008.

The three fundamental core elements that form the basis of a successful pay per click ad program are constant monitoring, analysis, and refinement.

Fundamental questions to be addressed when formulating a pay per click search engine strategy include the following:

When is the top pay per click bid necessary for highest conversion, and when will bidding for a second or third place position create a more attractive return on investment (ROI)?

Get Top Search Engine Ranking Using Keyword Strategies

Your prospects type in keywords into search engines to find your web site. Implementing simple keyword strategies can dramatically improve your search engine ranking and web traffic.

Many search engines and directories read the information in the META tags of web pages to index and cannot index your site without them. META tags are hidden in your HTML code. The web visitor does not see them. The most important META tags for search engine indexing are the title and https://www.startasecretarialbusiness.com/reprint/meta-tags. description tags. To see what META tags look like go to html

Other search engines use the description and site title you provide when registering a site. Some search engines use the text in web pages, especially the first words, sentences, or paragraphs to list web pages. That's why it's vital to place your most relevant keywords in your headline and the first paragraph of each page. Follow these tips to write effective keywords, page titles, and site descriptions.

Why Pay-Per-Inclusion Search Engines are Dying

A Pay-Per-Inclusion search engine is a service in which a search engine charges you a certain amount to spider and include your website in its database. For this fee, regular repeated spiderings are guaranteed, so you are sure to be indexed.

However, rankings are not guaranteed. These pages have no advantage over any page submitted for free. A few years ago, pay-per-inclusion search engines such as Inktomi, Altavista, Ask Jeeves and Yahoo were introduced. However, they have failed badly and have lost traffic to Google.

Why Google is Tops

Google built the LARGEST search engine database because it refused to adopt the pay-per-inclusion model. By allowing every website to submit its pages free, it built an enormous database of websites. Good news for everyone searching Google's database!

Google's competitors were unable to deliver the same results, partly because they had fewer websites to choose from. If you charge for entry into a search engine, you eliminate over 90% of the websites on the Net which cannot justify such a fee.

Google Adwords and the Lost Art of Copywriting

Tens of thousands of businesses, large and small, use Google Adwords and Overture Match (from Yahoo!) to advertise their products and services on the Internet. An entire industry, loosely known as "Search Engine Marketing" (SEM for short) has grown up to support this new advertising medium. To date, very little independent analysis (as opposed to analysis by industry players) has been published to demonstrate the effectiveness of these vehicles to advertisers. Still, businesses seem to be using Adwords and Overture in droves.

Briefly stated, Adwords and Overture enable you to run advertisements on search engines and other websites, the display of the ads being triggered by "keywords." Hence, if you sell "red widgets," you would choose "red widgets" as one of your keyword phrases. When a computer user enters "red widgets" as their search term on Google or Yahoo!, your ad may appear in or adjacent to the unpaid search results. How high up on the page, and how frequently your ad appears, depends upon your "bid," or how much you are willing to pay for a user to click on your ad (which leads back to your website). Administering your campaign can get a whole lot more complicated than this, but it gives you the idea in a nutshell.

Website Globalization

Globalize Your Website The Internet has unlocked a wide array of markets and knocked down barriers that previously prevented merchants from marketing their products on a global scale. There are a number of ways to 'globalize' a website and broaden a businesses general appeal to an international audience.

1.) Payment Options - vary from country to country, therefore offering flexible payment options are important. While PayPal might be a good option for consumer-oriented products, this service is not widely used by businesses and is only available to customers in specific countries. In order to attract global customers, businesses must provide a variety of payment options that customers, in different countries, are familiar and comfortable with.

2.) Currency Distinction - provides added convenience to a potential customer, and shows an understanding and respect for global audiences. A currency converter is a good option, especially for large companies who may be dealing with many countries. When listing prices clearly indicate the country currency, such as between US dollars and Canadian dollars. This distinction will prevent misconceptions and prevent customer dissatisfaction.

3.) Contact Information - should be given for a country code, along with the area code, when listing phone numbers. It should not be assumed that customers know the numbers to dial foreign calls. Since the standards of address formats can differ from country to country, ensure that the mailing address listed on the website is properly formatted. In this time of rapidly expanding use of numbers, if your area code changes, don't forget to change the information on your website.

Adware - Should I be Afraid?

Developers offering downloads are paying the price for the malformed truths that have been put forth regarding downloads. While not a political campaign the smears are ever present in the adware arena.

Years ago developers saw they could monetize freeware that was becoming expensive to host. Developers began working with Ad Networks such as the former Aureate and Conducent, who imbedded advertisements in the software. The software in many cases phoned home retrieving ads. In other cases adverts were imbedded directly into the download only being removed when the software was registered. Many well known software companies, including Netscape distributed ad supported versions, which allowed users to use the software for free. Developers were compensated either by install or the number of ads served. Advertisers welcomed new revenue streams to reach potential customers.

Adware or advertising-supported software is any software application in which advertisements are displayed while the program is running. These applications include additional code that displays the ads in pop-up windows or through a bar that appears on a computer screen. Adware helps recover program development costs, and helps to hold down the price of making the application for the user, often making it free of charge. As a result of the AdWare revenue programmers were motivated to write maintain, and upgrade valuable ad-enabled software. Adware was a great consumer trade off, so were did it all go wrong?

Understanding Email Netiquette

In life, it is the moral responsibility for the elder to teach the younger, or for the experienced to teach the inexperienced. In internet life, the same moral responsibility applies in regards to correct use of email.

One large difference is that, in internet life, it is very often the younger who are the experienced. The current waves of growth in internet usage, the new users, are largely from the older generations.

Accordingly, it becomes the responsibility of the experienced users to educate and train newer users in the correct usage of email. One simple way of imparting this education to lesser experienced internet users is to politely refer them to this article, either on the page you are currently reading or at https://BestPrac.Org/articles/netiquette.htm

The internet life carries it's own versions of courtesy, privacy and security issues that all users need to know. Hence a new word has entered the vocabulary - Netiquette. (Internet etiquette.)

For example:

* In internet and email culture, ALL CAPITALS IS AKIN TO SHOUTING and is universally seen as rude and impolite.

A Beginner's Guide to PPC's

PPC's, or pay-per-clicks, are performance-based methods of advertising. The advertiser's cost is based on how many customers take action by clicking on their link in a search engine's results. The cost can be very cheap, or it can be extremely expensive depending on what keywords are used in the ad, and how much the advertiser bids on those keywords.

Keywords are words that relate to the product, opportunity, or service that you are advertising. You select keywords so that your ad will be shown when potential customers are looking for that type of product, opportunity, or service. You then "bid" on those keywords, indicating how much you are willing to pay each time someone clicks your link as a result of your keyword listing. The more you bid, the higher your position in the search results. If your link is clicked, you pay the amount of your bid for that keyword.

For example, if you sold apples, you would probably use apple, apples, and fruit as some of your keywords. Then when a customer types "apples" into their search bar, your ad would pop up--at least in theory.

In reality what happens is hundreds, thousands, or even more sites will be listed. The prospect may never see your listing! They are not going to check every single link, they will most likely find what they are looking for in the first few pages of results. The key to getting your ad seen is to have it come up on the first page--preferably near the top. So how do you get the best position?

Techniques to Help e-Learning

E-Learning is doubling yearly. Classes, e-courses, e-books on how-to and what-to appear by the thousands online weekly. In- person seminars and workshops are limited to location and access. e-Learning allows easy access, creation, and internationaldistribution to a whole new world of experiences -- negative and
positive.

Avid learners now feel like there is a smorgasbord laid out before them. It's like having teachers and trainers crowded into your den. Yet, no sooner do you buy one e-learning material, start reading, and another enticement grabs your attention that is suppose to be even better, even grander. The flow of new
material never seems to end -- a high percentage poorly written.

Online learning is now starting its climb up the product maturity bell curve. This means that buyer's dollars are voting, demanding, more well thought-out and written material. As an avid on-line reader, I let out a deep sigh of relief and look forward for this next wave to occur across the board.

How to Create a GREAT Web Site

Do you have a web site that hasn't been touched in years? Or have you avoided the Internet bandwagon all together? Well, it's time to hop aboard again - or for the first time. Here's why:

1) Audience:
. Young adults and teens spend more time on the Internet than they do watching TV. Also, they're more likely to use the Internet than the Yellow Pages to find a product or service.
. Engineers and other business people use the Internet as a key information source when researching a product or service.
If either group is part of your target, you need to be on the Internet.

2) Availability: A web site is available 24/7, so your information is
there whenever your prospect wants it.

3) Cost-effective: Creating and maintaining a web site is relatively low
cost.

To create a web site, start with the basics.

Google Slavery...Old Habits Die Hard

For the first few months after Yahoo decided to go their own way with natural search (and MSN decided to get serious about the search business), the search results provided by those two could only be described as bizarre. Enough time has now passed that the dust has somewhat settled and there are three main (from a traffic standpoint) sites for quality natural searches.

The term "natural search" is to distinguish true searches, as opposed to paid advertisements which appear in the search results for many search engines these days. I guess you can't really fault the search engine companies from wanting to make some money (actually, BIG money) selling ad space, but the debate over the virtues of natural search versus paid advertising search is
something that could take up a very large book and still have no clear resolution...much like arguments revolving around religion or politics.

Like most people that have been working as online home business entrepreneurs for a few years, I was strongly conditioned to the need to "feed the 800 pound gorilla" of the search engine world. Basically, "if Google didn't love you", it was very difficult to get any meaningful natural search traffic to your website. Since Google was actually the search engine that was serving up the results for most of the popular search portals, if Google didn't look kindly upon your site and rank you well, you would not be ranked well for most of the high traffic search sites on the Internet.

Top Web Site Blunders by Coaches, Consultants and Experts

Of all the web sites belonging to coaches, consultants and experts that I have reviewed, more than three-quarters shared a very serious marketing blunder: Their potential clients wouldn't understand from their home page precisely what they do. Jargon gets in the way.

Many specialists believe that they need jargon to communicate their expertise. Without it, they'd sound incompetent, they think, and those in their target market who are as specialized as they are wouldn't respect them. My recommendation is not to eliminate jargon, but to include it in the site, with your main emphasis on the business benefits your company provides or the problems
your company solves.

For instance, I've done an informal survey to see if business owners understand the jargonistic tag line, "CRM software for small business." Nope! Most aren't even sure what "customer relationship management" really means. But if you write, "Close sales faster and improve customer loyalty through customer relationship management (CRM) software for small business," you'll earn greater
comprehension, without alienating those who already know the shorthand.

How to Easily Create a Search-Engine Friendly Navigation Menu For Your Website

A navigation menu is an important element of a website.

A good navigation menu helps your visitors navigate through your website efficiently - in as few mouse-clicks as possible.

You can think of a website navigation menu like the "Table of Contents" of a book.

And the greater the number of web pages on your website, the more important the role of a website navigation menu.

Another important benefit of a navigation menu is it optimizes the internal linking structure of your website and allows the navigation menu links to rank better in search engines, since all web pages will be pointing to it.

(For example, if your website has 1000 web pages, each navigation menu link will have 1000 web pages pointing to it. This will result in the navigation menu links ranking higher than the other web pages)

Here's how you can use this knowledge to improve the search-engine rankings of selected web pages - Simply include the selected web pages as links in the navigation menu and you'll automatically have the rest of the web pages pointing to them.

How to Create a GREAT Web Site

Do you have a web site that hasn't been touched in years? Or have you avoided the Internet bandwagon all together? Well, it's time to hop aboard again - or for the first time. Here's why:

1) Audience:. Young adults and teens spend more time on the Internet than they do watching TV. Also, they're more likely to use the Internet than the Yellow Pages to find a product or service.. Engineers and other business people use the Internet as a key information source when researching a product or service. If either group is part of your target, you need to be on the Internet.

2) Availability: A web site is available 24/7, so your information is there whenever your prospect wants it.

How To Be A Web Content Provider!

Would you be happy with reaching literally millions of people by being a web content provider. Whatever you're selling, it would be nice if you could do this on a regular basis, FOR FREE, through a large number of other people's ezines and websites, wouldn't it?

Well this is what you can be doing when you start writing content and articles for the countless online newsletters, ezines and webpages that are looking for your input. One thing common to all Internet publishers is that they are all looking for good articles to publish.

If you can be a content provider of interesting and informative articles for them you stand a good chance of getting included in their website/next publication. However you probably won't get included if it is simply a sales letter disguised as an article. But if you can provide good quality and informative web content you can often be their savior.

Why Google Adwords Will Keep You Young

It's funny. When I was a kid, adults often talked about getting older. At the time, I thought it was a normal. When you become an adult, you complain about growing older.

Now that I am an adult, I realize that I wasn't entirely correct. Yes, many adults still complain about geting older, but the truth of the statement isn't in age, it's in regret. Really, we wish we'd done things differently.

After that realization, why don't we do things differently? It's because we don't take things one step at a time.

Now, how does this fit into building or creating your Internet business(I-biz)? The answer is: don't bite off more than you can chew. Along those lines, if you're just starting out or can't seem to get your I-biz going, take a look at Google Adwords.
