Many people are shocked to find that a close friend or family member looks at pornography on a regular basis. However, it is a fact that many, many people do look at pornagraphy. If you suspect someone to be using your computer for pornograpy, or even if you are just wondering, how will you find out? You cannot always watch your computer. There will be times when you will not be able to keep your eye on it all the time. Since you probably do not want to set up surveillance cameras in your home or office, consider another method for finding out what people have been looking at on your computer.

When you surf the internet you need to use something called a browser. A browser is what allows you to function on the internet. It is what allows you to look at several different windows-to browse around the net. Without a browser you would not be able to access the internet. Browser are things like Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. When you look at an internet site the browser remembers which sites you looked at. It creates something called a browser history. To see a browser history on a particular computer, you simply need to open the browser and pull down the list of web sites found at the top of the page. This allows you to see the sites that have been recently viewed on that browser, on that computer.

So if someone has been looking at porn on your computer, and using your browser, you should be able to see the actual web site address in the browser history. This is a simple and easy way to find out if someone has been looking at porn on your computer. However, there is a problem with this method. If the person using the computer is savvy enough, they might be able to erase the browser history, which is actually not too difficult. However, erasing the entire browser history is fairly conspicuous. If your entire browser history is gone when you use the internet, you might want to consider the possiblity that someone else is looking at something. This might not be porn, but it is atleast something they don't want to see. Remember also that individual sites can be erased from a browser history, so the browser history method is not full proof.

Sometimes pop ups or sites that redirect you to pornography would make you think that someone else has been using your computer for this purpose, but this is not necessarily the case. A browser history that shows porn, however, means that someone has been looking at porn on your computer.
